We first noticed this place when following the famous procession of Virgin del Carmen to the port. This is a fairly gritty and working part of town. Indoor and street tables available. Menu available in English and Spanish and owner - possibly Albero himself? - was pleased when we ordered in our school level Spanish. He advised us which dishes were the right size for our family of 4. Generous copas of vino tinto y blanco were soon followed by delicious fish tapas and croquettes. Garlic prawns were the best so far. Nice small dessert too. Bill was unexpectedly low so this place has atmosphere, friendly and helpful service, quality food and very good value.

We celebrated a birthday here tonight and had a lovely evening. The steak with 3 peppercorn sauce was superb and cook perfectly, and the monkfish and prawn skewers were delicious. The brownie dessert was extremely and yummy! The restaurant is right on the beach and the views are incredible, especially in the evening at sunset. It had a lovely atmosphere and the live music really added to it. We definitely recommend this restaurant, it was a fabulous start to the trip and really is somewhere very special. Walk along the beach and stop here for friendly service and great food. If driving park under the trees for 1⬠per visit. Nice showers on the beach or swim in the clear sea. Very busy with locals at the weekends but great atmosphere

Don't be put off by some comments on here regarding the location. This is a lovely restaurant situated in Punta del Moral. Food was excellent , great choice of food and service was excellent. Very clean

I have been visiting this restaurant for more than 8 years. My family constantly go back as we know what we will get - great fresh food, simply prepared, well cooked, smiling waitress service who cope with my pathetic attempts at speaking Spanish.

Excellent surprise. A wonderfull "arroz a marinera": perfectly done, very tasty. The deserts are also homemade: delicious. A restaurant in the same family for 40 years, they really know how to welcome and let people fell good. To repeat for sure and take some friends!

Had lovely lunch sitting outside. . Inside was busy with locals, Saturday lunch time, always a good sign! Lemo sole was very good as were my husband's prawns.Prices are good as we found every where in Isla Cristina.Set in nice plaza away from traffic makes a good choice to eat.

We stopped here for lunch when looking for somewhere to eat in Isla Canela. There is a car park right outside, its next to the docks in the fishing/industrial area. From the outside it's a tiny bit unappealing but dont ket that put you off. The waitress was really lovely & spoke good English, she chatted with my 13 year old son who is learning Spanish at school. My son and husband both had swordfish which they said was very good. She recommended the catch of the day which she said was a white fish. Me and my daughter are it , it was lovely and excellently cooked. The waitress helped us to get the fish off the bones etc as we were useless! Its was really good & fresh. She recommended dessert a local dish a bit like a custard/creme brulee with just eggs and sugar which was sublime & also a local drink which was similar to ammeretto but with fresh lemon - again lovely. This is definitely worth a visit and we may pop back as I want to try the prawns !
