Welcome to Chez Meron! This newly opened restaurant in Bahir Dar serves healthy and delicious Western cuisine and tasteful Ethiopian dishes prepared by chef Meron. Enjoy the shady terrace while watching the hustle of the main road in the upcoming neighbor
This newly opened restaurant has a perfect blend of traditional ethiopian dishes and western food. The owner, Meron, cooked for expats many years, and that shows off: perfectly assembled meals of healthy and tasteful ingredients. It is a pleasure to eat here! Although a little bit outside the city centre, it is worthwhile to take a bajaj to this place. If you are coming with a group, it is wise to call at midday: the kitchen is small and everything is being made fresh: worth to wait for or order in advance. Take away is also possible. I wished my mum could cook as well as Meron!
Enjoy good local food (injera, doro wat ...) and dance, I especially liked the dances of Northern Ethiopia. Visitors are invited to join the dancers, it's great fun! it has excellent Ethiopian food and a live music/dance show every night. This is the place for you. I could not believe what great value this place was for entertainment, quality & quantity of food.Favorite Dish: Injera, the traditional pancakes made from local foodgrain by the name of teff. It can sometimes be too sour for the Western taste and owing to shortages it is occasionally mixed with foodstuffs of lesser quality. At Weyin it tasted quite good. Injera is usually served with spicy vegetables, chicken stew, potatoes &c. Custom demands that instead of utensils you use your hands.

Near Excellent but missing full marks due not having yet all the needed pieces for Great Wine Tasting. That said the location and set-up and sheer beauty and elegance of this place makes it one to watch because once the bottles are collected and this market introduced to fine wine. Watch out!!! In the mean the local wines aren't bad and worth trying while Castle has a good menu with good food and is again located on a spectacular spot for viewing the lake and chilling during the afternoon or sharing the evening with friends. Add some live entertainment and a decent collection of red and whites while adjusting the menu and adding chocolate deserts and this place will have a wait list or people wishing they reserved a table. But I think you already know that and so we wait~

We walked here from the Blue Nile resort with our guide. Without the guide I'm nit sure if we would have come here at all. We (there were 6 of us) were given a table at night by the waters edge which faced the most impressive full moon. Setting was good. Food was OK, meat was abit tough however the pasta was OK. They serve beer and local wine. Our evening was fine.
