My husband and I went for dinner at the recommendation of our hotel. The food was great! Perfect seasoning on the ribeye. The crawfish were excellent; you'll want to dip everything in the sauce! Extensive beer and drink menu. If you really want to enjoy the experience, sit at the bar and watch the staff at work. You'll be friends by the time you leave.

We had some of the hamburgers and French fries in a long time. The food was actually hot and fresh. We ate there 3 times within a week while visiting and it was great each time. To top it off, if you ordered a combo special, you got a small sundae free!

This place is good but I find all the Japanese restaurants are all about the same. I will give you a piece of advice though.... Order take out. If you eat in you will get less food. I always have food leftover but when I ate in, I also left hungry.

I stopped here while doing some business outside Altavista. I saw it while driving down the road. I felt everything was average. I purchased a salami, cheese, and tomato sandwich with a bag of chips and ice tea. You place your order and they buzz you when it is ready, so there is no waitress. The atmosphere is OK, tables placed in front of a window looking out at Main Street.

Went their today for my lunch break after hearing great things about this place and I must say It was the truth, I ordered the mini pepperoni pizza and mini cheese sticks and they were cooked to perfection with real homemade ingredients and it gets even better when I walked inside to see the cool posters of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and even had a classic Jaws movie poster bringing back classic memories and classic entertainment I was extremely impressed with both the tasty food and environment and I will definitely be back that's for sure.

Talk about your local dive with some of the best food around. Ghef's is the place! We couldn't find anywhere but chain fast food restaurants until we ask some of the local folks. They suggested Chef's. I wasn't to sure when we parked but was very pleasantly surprised and the quality of the breakfast and the service. I suggest you try the French Toast.. it was superb!

First, the positives. This is a popular eating place for the locals of Altavista, VA, and for good reason. The food is excellent. Very good flavours and well cooked and presented. We arrived early (around 5pm) for dinner and by 6pm it was full to the brim. Decor is neat and spacious. The margarita's were excellent. Hallelujah. The pricing was fair and you won't go wrong having a nice cheapish meal and drink. Now to the negatives. Our server gave the distinct impression he didn't want to be there. Not one smile all night, but, he did politely answer all our queries and was very accurate with meal recommendations. The other negative is my usual one for USA restaurants - the lack of a Flat White or equal high quality coffee :-(. We live in hope. Anyway, we'd happily go back to this restaurant anytime we feel like some great Mexican food in Altavista.

this is a great place to eat! i've thoroughly enjoyed everything i have eaten here on numerous visits! i really like the sandwiches as they are freshly prepared to order. service is always great too!
