Disappointed

Reviewed By Coastal25598680889

We were expecting this travel for 2 years, postponed twice due to covid as borders closed ( we are coming from France) and unfortunately we are disappointed by the upper canopy choice. The upper canopy description does not fit to reality, the view is not the one expected. The view from the balcony, the living room and the main bed room is not on Forrest but on the main building and as the main building is under refurbishment so on materials. We have also to mention that all the accommodations we've booked for 2020 and 2021 had accepted to refund the payment due to covid except the cabins.

Hotel Zed Tofino

Hotel Zed Tofino is a hotel experience that completely rebels against the ordinary. You may be used to our retro-chic motel feel in our other Hotel Zed locations, but Hotel Zed Tofino is a whole new vibe. Think: totally gorgeous, swanky 70's pad. But this isn't your Granny's crib (unless your Granny was a very stylish rebel!) Our rooms and public areas are groovy and chilled out. The style is deluxe and you'll never get bored here with our sunken living room, retro office, psychic's den and...what's that? A bike path that runs through the middle of the lobby? Yeah, you've never seen anything like this before. Plus, we’ve got an on-site bird sanctuary for you nature lovers. World-famous Chesterman Beach and the Inlet are both a short stroll from the hotel, and if you wanna roll into town we’re right on the bike path. Quick note: There are still some old photos on here from travellers before we built this new hotel so ignore those. This hotel is brand new! Peace and love, rebels!

This hotel is a fun blast from the past to add a little character to your vacation. The pros are the hotel has a unique character and the covered outdoor hot tub in the rainforest is really cool. I also appreciated the incredibly spacious shower in the room. Besides the really unique brand of this hotel, the rooms aren't anything special. Take away the dial phone, door handles, paint and light covers, it really is just like any other hotel. The amenities add character but for example a 200 sq ft disco isn't very practical and really just something most people walk into and say "cool," right before walking out of. I'm not sure why most hotels haven't done this yet, but I would really appreciate a yoga and meditation area. This is something that is hard to do in a hotel room with another person in there and I think it would be used for example in this case much more than a small disco room or psychic room. On a final note I did want to emphasize how phenomenal the in house restaurant Roar isl. Even if you do not stay at the hotel, take an evening to check this place out. I'm celiac, with an egg and dairy allergy. They had ZERO issues with accommodating me. I even had the opportunity to enjoy a vegan, gluten free cheese cake- I couldn't believe it! I even had the server check twice to make sure it was gluten free. Honestly, besides them accommodating me, the food was unbelievable and under-promoted by the pictures on the internet. My wife, who has no food issues raved about how glad she was that we went there.

The room were good size and very clean room and we did ask for recommendations on supper . He never asked us what kind of food do you want . He said the names of them but that’s all I was not impressed with his customer service otherwise it was very good room and very quiet hotel . They don’t have 24 hour staff . That’s not very good to but we never had any problems we only stayed for one night For non-franchises hotel I do prefer franchised hotel chains

We love the Bayshore Waterfront Inn. This is the second time we stayed; we were in a 1 bedroom suite. It is so spacious plus clean and quiet and the location overlooking the small craft harbor is great. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment and there is a bbq on the balcony. The bathroom is huge and the tub is so big you can lie down in it! The added plus is that the owners Teo and George are really friendly and helpful.

Very comfortable but a bit small

Reviewed By hydehaven

This motel was not what we expected. When we drove up it looked like a typical small highway motel. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our room featured one bedroom, a second queen bed in the entrance area, a kitchenette and a small table and two chairs. The bathroom had colourful decorations on the wall and the towels were nice colours rather than institutional white. We really liked the colours. The fridge was bright red, the plates had bright patterns and the quilts were also patterned, not white. The only drawback was the limited space for luggage. Everything was very clean and while close to a busy road, it was very quiet at night. It was also a short walk to the riverside path. Restaurants and services are about a block away.
