This is a REAL Mexican Restaurant. If you want to see what it tastes like to go South of the border, you will want to eat here. I have tried many of their entrees, but always come back to the simple Tortas. I love the beef or Carne Asada Tortas. My kids love to eat the Lengua (Tongue). It is like pot roast, and is cooked perfectly. They are a full service restaurant, and serve Menudo, Tamales, Burritos, Chalupas, Enchiladas, you name it. The server will greet you with a basket of chips and salsa when they get your drink order. Remember South of the border, Dr. Pepper, Jaritos, Tea, Cafe, Limon Aide, just to name a few. When your meal is done, save room for dessert. From Sopa Pias to Flans they have them all. There is an ice cream bar located in the dining room, and if that's not enough it is attached to one of the best Mexican Supermarkets in town. The staff are very kind and most everyone speaks English. If they don't they will get someone who does for you.

We've been eating at LA since it opened. We've frequented the Albertville, Guntersville, Boaz, and even Arab locations. Albertville was always the best to us. The main draw for our family is the salsa, and the service... and of course, cleanliness.We are still visiting at least one of the locations pretty much once a week. However, things are changing and we are concerned. We love the new Boaz location and are proud they were able to build their own facility. However, the last two times we ate their the salsa (after being so consistent for SO many years) was like ketchup almost. Then, much to our surprise, our next visit to both Albertville and Guntersville was the same with regards to the salsa. In Guntersville, the wait staff has turnover almost 100%. Used to, with the exception of one or two who seemed to always mess up your order, you could count on fast, friendly and reliable service. It was also always very clean. Our last visit, just a few weeks ago, we noticed an eighty-something (87-87?) health rating. Very disappointing and frankly concerning. The service is no where near what it used to be there.Service is still pretty fast, steady in Albertville, but twice in the last month I ordered shredded beef and received the steak. When I'm in the mood for beef, I get the shredded beef (or least request it, LOL) because often the steak is tough and chewy. Love the flaming cheese dishes and the ORIGINAL salsa.

We had a family gathering here recently with about 20 people and they reserved us a spot and took care of us in a great way. The food was really good- and the waitress was really good. We had several children with us and she did a great job taking care of us all. The steaks were very good and cooked just right. WE will be going back here againWe appreciate your visit!

We were told the food was good especially the tortas, but the food was just ok. We expected more but we didn't get the tortas we got the tacos. We may try the tortas if we go back but for tacos we will stick with speedy Gonzalez in boaz.
