Indio Feliz Restaurant Bistro

This restaurant is owned by a Frenchman who's wife is Peruvian. I had the fettuccine that tasted homemade and had come with 6 small dishes of ingredients to be added to my pasta as I pleased including the freshly grated parmesan. I also had the avocado and melon starter. My meal was filling and delicious. Others around me also raved about their meals. The upstairs is lovely with painted walls, the downstairs has business cards all over (not so atmospheric) but the food is worth the visit.

This was the BEST food we had while in AC. And it should be #1! Its a small walk up to the restaurant but the food and ambiance was totally worth it! Great veggie spring rolls, awesome crunchy chicken fingers for starters and we LOVED the chicken Sandwich as a main. If you only have one night in town then make this your place to go!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Chullpi Machu Picchu Restaurante

We had our first dinner here and the venue was fairly quiet. One waiter serving tables throughout dinner service.
The food was very delicious and presented beautifully. My husband and I shared one entree, main and dessert as we just could not stomach too much after being in high altitude.
The only let down I would say was the dessert we chose was very small compared to the rest of our meal. To be honest, with the communication difficulties, we thought the dessert given was a pre cleanse or taster of what was to come.
They also do espresso coffee. Not amazing but good enough.
Would recommend nonetheless.

Both an experience and a destination, Cafe Inkaterra overlooks the Vilcanota River. With a decor based on regional crafts, it is the perfect place for guests to unwind away from the crowds, following a visit to the ancient Machu Picchu Citadel.

This Restaurant was booked by our tour operator as part of our Machu Picchu experience and we were excited to have lunch there due to the comments we have heard. After doing our Machu Picchu climb we wanted to relax and enjoy a nice meal with our group of friends. We arrived excited and the person that received us was unfriendly, he looked annoyed and made us practically beg for the wifi password. He would ignore us everytime we asked for it.
They assigned us 2 tables but made it very clear (not in a nice way slamming the chair against the floor) that we could not move the chairs. The waiter took our order fast and the food was served promptly and it was delicious we were all satisfied with the food but we were disappointed by the way we were treated. They should try to be friendly and make the client feel welcomed instead of making feel people unwanted and mistreated.
Pros: delicious food, ubication of the resturant overlooking the train.
Cons: unfriendly staff, bad customer service.

Incontri del pueblo Viejo

Italian-Peruvian restaurant, where find 100% Italian dishes such as pasta and our real napoletana Pizza, or our fusion dishes from Italian and Peruvian culture. All accompanied by our handcrafted beers or our wines from the best Italian and South-american wineries. And finally a good ice cream, Tiramisu, or our Cafe espresso.

My family dined at Incontri in December after a day spent exploring MP. We were staying in Ollyantaytambo and opted to visit just for the day, catching a morning train.
We remained "up the hill" until closing and had seats on a 9pm train back to Olly. I had researched on TA where to eat so as not to waste time wandering around. I selected Incontri based on the reviews and also an easy path back to the train station.
I can say the entire experience was fantastic! We were wet and cold and the first thing you see upon entering is a warm fire in the center of the restaurant. Our waiter, Giovanni, took great care of us. The local wine and beer selections were very good and the food was fantastic! The best description is Italian/Peruvian Fusion. We shared two desserts for the four of us and all I remember hearing was "Oh wow..."
Giovanni spoiled us with limocello before we made our way out.
I highly recommend the dinning experience at Incontri del Pueblo Viejo!

Coming back from MP, Machu Picchu after 5 hour exploring on a cold January day.. full of impressions, a bit cold, a bit wet from the rains and hungry..After leaving the bus just cross the rail tracks and along the bustling river is Toto s house.
The staff gives you plenty of time to digest all you have seen and serve you a nice lunch, we had tortellini with chicken and a tasteful pumpkin soup. There was a band playing live music, not really essential but a nice touch anyway.

This place is away from the main tourist area. The baker bakes out back and serves out front. He is a gifted baker. To find it take the path which runs above the railway station and head away from the market area. Chask Tika will be on your left. Its small. Best to buy and take away.
