The whole building has been renovated, the rooms are completely renovated, spacious and bright, offering a splendid view of Monte Gomito and its ski slopes. We have four large bedrooms each with its own private bathroom, you can enjoy free private parking right in front of the entrance door. You will enjoy a fantastic breakfast!

Reviewed By balygatorI've stayed with my girlfriend for two nights and we pitched our tent instead of getting a room so I can't really talk about rooms and facilities.... The location was very nice, a bit difficult to reach but worth it! I can imagine that during the winter might be trickier.. Wonderful woods all around with nice walks, all in all it was a nice stay!

Reviewed By MarcopoochReally friendly proprietor that was happy to accommodate our change of dates. The rooms were spotlessly clean and a good size. The breakfast selection was amazing! Even though we were the only two people staying, we had every possible option, even including a freshly baked "breakfast cake" each morning - must be a Italian thing! I would really recommend this place, especially if heading up for the winter (we were there in summer) it is kitted out as a ski chalet with a beautiful, large wood-burning stove that would undoubtedly leave the whole house warm and cosy. It is a great place adn I would certainly go back.

Reviewed By BandobonceThis was our sixth year staying at The Pionieri Hotel during winter (this year on two occasions). As usual, the welcome and friendly care during our stay was excellent. The service is good because the staff are lovely people - not because they have been through a "have a nice day" training course. We don't know the names of all the staff, and although they all deserve praise, special mention must be made of Gianni in the restaurant - and Diego on reception, whose pleasant patience continues to amaze us. Nice end to our Apennines hike
Reviewed By lynxwhiskerIn Boscolungo on the no. 80 trail down off the Apennine ridge. Clean simple room facing the main road; the road was quiet at night. Friendly staff who spoke English. Good food, although the other guests ate earlier than us, so we were the last diners. The service was a bit amateurish.

Stuck in the 60's

The lovely old couple that run it should sell and let someone gut renovate it. Bedding: Terrible hard lumpy and uneven mattress-despite being with friends we left early, couldn't take another night. And the floor and bed squeak badly (think the French film Delicatesan) - exhibitionists only because everyone on the floor will hear you having sex Bathroom: Flat sheet style cloths for towels - felt like your drying yourself with a kitchen tea towel. No shower hand held wand with no curtain for keeping water in. Also insects come out of the water tap when having a bath. Food: Breakfast terrible pre packaged stuff that wasn't ready until 0900 and they make you pay extra for espresso (ski lifts open 0800 and it was the only reason we stayed) Dinner miserable school canteen style meals - soulless. We loved being with friends and enjoyed their company but really felt cheated by the price and standard of accommodation. we were allowed a late check out.
