Fabulous B&B in Aarhus
Reviewed By flute61My family of 4 stayed at Horhavegarden August 1st and 2nd. This was a wonderful place! The hosts were very friendly and helpful as we explored the region. They provided a superb breakfast each day. The 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in was simple and beautiful. There was a loft bedroom, a second bedroom on the main floor. A small kitchen with everything you would need including a dishwasher. A small dining/sitting area. There was a lovely private patio out back with a table and chairs. The ocean was about a 3 block walk away. The building has been splendidly renovated and has a thatch roof. Free parking too! I would absolutely stay there again!

Reviewed By autravelbugThis hotel is within 10 mins walk from the train station. It may be a bit hard to find using google as it directs you to paths with stairs which isn’t suitable when you have a big luggage. You have to walk straight through inside the Scandinavian centre and use the elevator/ escalators there (3 sets of escalators down towards the ground level). Once inside you’ll see car hire office sixt and take the exit closest to this office on your left. From there, the hotel is next to the bowling alley. Checkin is either self service or go down to basement to reception. The room is relatively spacious and with great facilities- full kitchen (oven, microwave, cooktop even a dishwasher!) my room also has a balcony. Room is also sound proofed. Windows and balcony door can be opened when you feel a bit hot but you will hear some noise when you open these. Wifi is good. Twin bed is on the small side. They have laundry facilities (paid) which I did not use. Overall I would recommend this place to others.

In an old barn we have arranged a cozy appartment for two with French country style theme. Here you also have access to a kitchenette with refrigerator, coffee maker and electric water boiler. Coffee and tea for free. . A large living room with fireplace. Toilet and bath. Access to our cozy garden and a small greenhouse with seating on a chilly day. Breakfast consists of yoghurt/muesli / cereal / milk, rye bread, homemade bread, cold meats / cheese / vegetables, homemade jam, soft boiled eggs (from our own chickens), smoothie and fresh fruit. Here you can find tranquility after hectic days close to the city's attractions. Price per night for 2 pers. incl towels,bedlinen: 650DKK. Breakfast can be ordered for 75 DKK per person per day. Cash payment on departure Arrival after 15 pm and departure no later than 10 AM

Reviewed By Liz270The accommodations are beautiful and spacious and set in the most scenic rural setting. Only a few minutes to 2 small villages with various grocery stores and excellent takeout. 20 minutes drive to downtown Århus. An oasis of relaxation. The bed is king size and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped. The resident outdoor cat is frequently available to be patted. The great room has a huge table and a number of cozy seating areas. No TV to get in the way of completely escaping from stress. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. And if you get the optional breakfast, Vibeke provides an amazing meal. The only issue is if you are very generously sized, the shower may be a bit tight.

In the old Mission House Carmel you will find Hotel Carmel. The hotel consists of 14 rooms all individually decorated and each with its own history. Heidi Bielfeldt who owns Heidis MixBix in Mejlgade has been responsible for the decor of the hotel rooms. There are all categories from our smallest single room to the double room, the family room and up to the suites. We appreciate personality, a cozy atmosphere and, not least, an exciting stay.

It's easy to walk the whole center on foot and is close to all important tourist places. However, the biggest advantage of the hotel is STAFF - very helpful, very committed and very kind. They complied with every request, it was always clean in the rooms and bathrooms. Meals were on time and without reminder they top up plates. Really golden staff, I heard that they are from Poland - it can be seen immediately the solidity and decent execution;) We will definitely come back here. We highly recommend it! Very friendly host who made everything to make us feel welcome and who serves a delicious breakfast on the patio right outside the annex.

horrible - avoid at all costs
Reviewed By erik zthis was the worst hotel i've staid at in a very long time. the bed linen was not clean and in some beds smelled bad - the bed covers and towels were old and used, of doubtful cleanliness, and grey and stuffy. the walls were very thin and we had the snores from the czech worker who slept in the next room to keep us company. the hotel was full of eastern european laborers who were nice but very loud and noisy. we were woken up repeatedly by noises - steps on the floor above, talking.... we also had some nice insects to keep us company - woke up with a maggot on the covers this morning. even the youth hostel we staid at a couple of days ago was better. this is a real review. check my other reviews and you will see that generally my reviews are balanced and honest - as is this one
10. Solbjerg Skov B&B
We are located in a rural setting very close to nature with daily visits by nature's wildlife. You return to one of the three rooms, which are newly renovated and equipped with TV, wired/wireless internet, kitchen complete with dishwasher, stove, microwave, refrigerator with freezer and a spacious shared bathroom with shower, washing machine and dryer. You have the freedom to sit outside your room and enjoy a beer or have dinner in your own courtyard terrace when the weather allows. The B&B is 15 km to the heart of Aarhus and within 15 km you can reach many lovely beaches namely Norsminde, Mariendal beach, Saksild beach. There is REMA1000, Superbrugsen, all in a very short drive or cycling. Distance to public transport to Aarhus (bus 17) - 900 meters / 20 min walk.
