La Vallee des Singes

“La Vallée des Singes”, the unique wildlife park dedicated to primates was founded in 1998. It is a place of amusement and knowledge promoting ecological awareness. Since its creation, the main objective of the park is to contribute in protection of nature, environment and primates. La Vallée des Singes offers to its visitors a unique experience through a full immersion into the fascinating world of primates. This wildlife park is 100% different; there are no cages, no fences but 450 monkeys freely living on a wide area of 22 hectares. Here, visitors are the ones who have the privilege to enter the monkeys’ territory. You have the possibility to observe the little monkeys with only a few steps away from you, as well as the great apes on their island.

Such a wonderful place being so close to the monkeys. Some are in enclosures, but they all looked happy and healthy. The place is vast. It's a great place for all ages and so worth a visit.

Spent a really enjoyable afternoon here with two under 10s. Lovely long walk through farm, park and woodland trails learning about European birds, reptiles and animals. Not being a fan of animals veing kept in captivity I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality, clean enclosures and well looked after inhabitants. The staff were friendly and available to answer questions. We all enjoyed the Halloween treasure hunt. Lots of kids in costume because there is a Halloween offer - costumed kids get free entry. The park was more than big enough for effective social distancing.

We had a fabulous day at this zoo. We thought the one way system and directions around the zoo was a great idea - it means you don’t miss anything and makes it easier on busy days when you don’t have to get past people going in the opposite direction. Great facilities - plenty of toilets and food outlets throughout the park. Food was fine - not amazing but good enough for lunch. The zoo is very clean and well laid out, the animals seem to be very well cared for. If you are going with little ones I would suggest taking a pushchair - the zoo is big with a lot of animals, and from beginning to end is quite a long way. Definitely a full day required here, there is a lot to see!

A wonderful afternoon activity. The creatures feel very close and there is an amazing variety – crocs (truly like living dinosaurs!), snakes (the biggest anaconda imaginable!), iguanas, tortoises...! The new aerial walkway adds an 'Indian Jones' sense of adventure. Very well worth the visit. Also, there is a swimming pool complex and bowling just opposite.
