Small, nice hotel
Reviewed By evamuGood location near the harbor and walking distance to the city center. Free parking and wifi, friendly staff. According to information it would have been supper at the hotel but it didn't. The room was quite small but adequate for an overnight stay. Comfortable beds. Breakfast buffet in a small nice dining room with maritime decor. Off season, so it was quiet and nice.

Reviewed By Franglais12If I could get a refund for the second night I'd definitely be moving elsewhere. On arrival you have to phone to be let in... I had to use my phone as theirs didn't seem to work. The room was actually OK, with a comfy bed and good WiFi. BUT the toilet ran water all night long, it wouldn't stop, and even with the bathroom door shut I was still disturbed all night by the sound of running water. There was no rail to fix the shower head to, so a decent shower in the morning was impossible. I EXPECT this in France but not in a Swedish hotel. Breakfast was a "bag" in a fridge downstairs, the contents of which are in my photo (the yoghurt/muesli was extra) Probably the worst breakfast choice I've ever had in Sweden. The coffee machine did not work and, because it also was the source of hot water, a cup of tea was also not a possibility! Finally, I was most surprised to see, in "green" Sweden certainly, that everything was in one use plastic items.

A wonderful hotel
Reviewed By SomeishereWe booked a room by a hotel booking site. We could read about two outside pools and also see balconies at the pictures. We became disappointed upon arrival, as the pools were closed for renovation and our room didn't have any balcony. We had to pay additional 500 SEK so we could change the room to a family room with balcony. But pools...? Of course, not open. However, the hotels homepage informed about the renovation. But not the hotel booking site, which was a little bit disappointing. So, it was a big mistake by us to not check the hotel site before booking. However, the room was very nice, but we also could see some spider webs at the balcony (but NOT inside!), probably due to the lack of hotel guests during the corona pandemic. It was a beautiful weather, and we could let the door to the balcony be opened all the time. Our room had a wonderful view over the archipelago, birds and boats. Please, when booking, look carefully if the room has a view over the sea or not! In the evening we had a three-course meal. Completely wonderful! And the breakfast in the morning... A fantastic, well tasting and varied breakfast. Everything extremely fresh. To recommend? Absolutely. Perhaps my words here sound "negative" but regarding the pools it was not lack of information from the hotel and the spider web? We didn't care and I think just now, during the pandemic, not everything is "normal". And it had been possible to ask the hotel maid to remove it. But, as mentioned, we didn't care.

I appreciated the comfort of the room with the possibility of cooking, being able to use a washing machine and a dryer as well as being able to use a barbecue outside. I appreciated the greenery and the calm of the hotel. I felt at home.

Cozy but cleaning was not good
Reviewed By dkarlb214660Checkin and general information prior to stay was very clear. The area was just stunning, cottage was cozy and had all you needed. We were not informed of the wifi password so that was a bit bummer. The cleaning was unfortunately not good.

Fantastic location. Beautiful view. A typical 'paradise' during the summer season. Not suitable to be called a hotel during winter.

Really good AC - and more
Reviewed By annasen2016Reaaly good air conditioning and ventilation, despite this town (again) having the country's highest temperature. Good rooms, good beds. Shower and WC in our room. Quite good sound isolation, so even though there was traffic and bus stop outside our window, that did not disturb us much. Very professional and kind staff. Good and varied breakfast buffé. Even scrambled eggs with baked tomatoes and sausages. And salmon, herring, different cheeses. A fun thing is the leaflet "Things you can do while waiting for the ferry". (Many pass by here just going to the Gotland ferry.) A tip here is to go to the Gunnarsö Camping which is beautifully situated by the sea. And, they have pastimes to enjoy while waiting for ferry, or even as a vacation goal by itself.

Hårig säng utan sängkläder, anklagande och katastrofal service
Reviewed By wictorn2020Jag bodde en natt på Forum Oskarshamn vandrarhem, jag checkade in sent och hade en kod för att komma in till mitt rum, jag bad om att få sängkläder, lakan och örngott till en extra kostnad men det fanns inga varken på rummet eller utanför rummet, personalen dubbelkollade även på morgonen men det var inga framlagda. Rummet i sig var inget speciellt men sängen var inte skön att sova på, gnisslade och hade dessutom fler hårstrån spridda över hela sängen. Då jag behövde lämna väldigt tidigt på morgonen var det ingen personal när jag checkade ut heller. Ett betalningsproblem uppstod senare och det visade sig att när jag hade ringt via telefon och bokat samma kväll när jag checkade in att personalen inte hade tagit mitt namn som stod på mitt bankkort korrekt och att betalningen därav inte gått igenom. Då skrev Forum Oskarshamn vandrarhem till min vän, som inte ens hade bott där via messenger facebook och anklagade mig för att ha gett de ett ogiltigt bankkortsnummer. Då hade Forum Oskarhamn vandrarhem redan fått både mitt telefonnummer och emailadress. Det var inget god morgon eller annan liknande service minded känsla i facebookmeddelandet. Eftersom jag ville självklart göra rätt för mig så ringde jag upp direkt och var fortfarande anklagad för att ha smitit ifrån betalningen/angivit ett ogiltigt bankkortsnummer. Efter lite överläggande fram och tillbaka listade jag ut att personen som jag pratat med i telefon inte tagit mitt namn korrekt, som jag dessutom varit väldigt tydlig med att mitt tilltalsnamn är inte det som står på bankkortet. Efter lite om och men slapp jag tillslut betala den extra kostnaden för sängkläderna och dessutom ett avdrag på 50 kronor. Kort och gott, ett väldigt oinspirerande rum med en säng fullt av hår men framförallt en förbannat dålig och otrevlig service i telefon på morgonen. Dessutom ett par gånger om var jag anklagad för att ha försökt undvika betalningen. Jag skulle rekommendera ALLA att undvika Forum Oskarshamn vandrarhem i mesta möjliga mål.
