It was beautifully decorated airy and clean Getting in and out of the premises was secure but simple, appreciated as I was back very late My breakfast order was waiting for me, well presented and exactly what I ordered, important to me on the day as I had limited personal time The premises is in a lovely quiet area and I will return Highly recommend- thank you both for a stress free weekend

About as much soundproofing as a piece of paper.

Don’t stay here if you want any sleep. I’ve had the misfortune of staying here 3 times now (through having little other alternative when shows are on at the NEC - this is the only place that’s never booked up - a message in itself). I’ve stayed in the main building and the annexe over the road. I actually asked for the annexe this time thinking it would be better than the rooms in the main building. The rooms in the main building are dated, especially the bathrooms. They are also extremely noisy - either from the road on the front of the building or the kitchens / outside drinking area on the back. The annexe proved to be equally as bad. The walls and ceilings are paper thin. The room stinks of foist and is tired, dusty and run down. The noise issue is equally as bad with what seems like most of the HS2 workforce having a party upstairs and about as much soundproofing as a piece of paper. Just don’t bother. I won’t be.

Fabulous find

We stayed at The Swan the night before going to Birmingham Airport. I was very pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. We were allocated a down stairs wheelchair accessable room and I have to say it was great. The room was large, spacious and had a fabulous ensuite wet room. The room and bathroom were absolutely spotlessly clean and beautifully presented. The shower was lovely and hot and was really powerful, the heated towel rail meant the towels were lovely and hot coming out of the shower. There were free toiletries, tissues, tea and coffee making facilities. The staff were all extremely friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The food was freshly made, delicious and extremely good value for money. Not only was this hotel perfect for the NEC and the airport it was extremely well equipped for wheelchair users and those with impaired mobility, quite a refreshing change. I would highly recommend this hotel, thank you for a great stay.

The staff were lovely. The pub was rough and we left after 30 mins worried about our safety. The room itself was adequate. The key fob that lets u into the accommodation didn’t work. The price of alcohol was cheap and it was busy. I guess it depends on what kind of stay you are looking for

Stayed here so I could safely park my classic car off the road for visit to the NEC

Reviewed By Robin H

I was driving at the Classic Car Show at the NEC in November last year. I was searching for a B&B nearby with off road safe parking. I came across Blythewood and booking was really easy. We do B&B ourselves and know the standard to expect. I was not let down. Pat offered everything expected. I did find towels missing when I was shown the room but this was put right immediately. She suggested I park the car close to the house so it was less visible from the road. Again very helpful. 10 minute walk to a very good selection of food and drink, The Swan carvery was extremely good value as were their pizzas. I have just booked to stay again at the end of March for the Restoration Show. Looking forward to it.
