In 1 week, met and spent time with around 20 great people (all now new friends), learned to dive, saw a lot of new (to us) birds, chilled out, gained a pound or 3, and had some great adventures. The staff is really caring and kind, and went to great lengths to make us feel like part of the family. This was our first visit, but there is a 1000% chance that we'll be back.

Great, laid-back place on Andros
Reviewed By Duncan BStayed here with my parents for a week in February. The location is great-- we alternated fishing out of Middle Bight and South Bight all week depending on the winds and the guide availability. All guides were very skilled and hard-working and the staff at Swain's was extremely friendly. The beach itself was beautiful along with the flat and island right off the lodge. It is a laid-back place with a very pleasant vibe. I highly recommend it!

All the villas are located on the beach, equipped with a full kitchen, living room, wifi and a restaurant on site! This is the vacation place where all your worries will fade away!

It was a very pleasant stay. The Manager, hard working Sandra, was friendly, professional, polite, and very helpful with all my needs and requests. Some of the other staff , Dario and Leandria were also very helpful and friendly. It was a very “Bahamian”experience… and I will be happy to book next year s fishing trip at the same hotel.

Nathan's Lodge is a unique property with 5 comfortable rooms and a restaurant/bar. The lodge is 300' from one of the finest and most private white sand beaches in the Bahamas. Each room has 2 double beds, private bathroom, AC, TV & mini fridge. Bonefishing guides are available through the lodge for daily guided bonefishing or weekly trips. Scuba diving, snorkeling & fishing tours can also be arranged upon request. The restaurant serves up delicious Bahamian cuisine, cold beer & more upon request.

Reviewed By Trail168175Nathan and his friendly crew give excellent service. Home cooked delicious big breakfast and dinner every night. Great deserts. Full bar. Very nice clean rooms. Great beach. Very reasonably priced. We used Nathan’s as our base for a bicycling trip. Nathan’s has just been updated and remodeled. Great wifi. 5 stars for sure.

Bahamas charm at it's best!
Reviewed By jmac143After 2 years in limbo due to the pandemic, we had the privilege to travel once again albeit with the numerous hoops that we had to jump through. First of all the ‘Health Visa’ required for entry to the Bahamas was so much easier than we had anticipated and was granted 6 minutes after uploading our applications. Also, other visitors that we met whilst in Andros said that they had similar experiences with their applications. Secondly, it’s very easy to arrange and book rapid antigen tests if required for your journey back home. My husband and I spent almost more than 2 weeks staying at ‘Treasures of Andros’ renting the property called ‘Emerald’ which we have previously rented. Throughout the whole booking process and the time leading up to our departure, Trevor the owner was always on hand to answer and help with our numerous questions, mostly relating to Covid testing and entry requirements as we’d travelled to Andros and stayed at ‘Treasures of Andros’ before. Emerald: Is a 2 bedroom apartment situated right on the beachfront with spectacular sunrises every morning (while we were there anyway), it’s fitted out with a full kitchen (cooker/oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, coffee maker) which contains everything that you’d need - even for a 2 month stay! The sitting room is comfortably fitted out with 2 sofas, a dining table and chairs, coffee table and TV. It has a full bathroom complete with an over bath shower. The windows have recently been renewed with inclusive bug screens which make such a huge difference when the wind is down. The apartment is supplied with all linens including beach towels, Trevor also supplies a local mobile phone which is a very thoughtful extra, handy for booking restaurants, getting lost on the numerous forestry tracks (it’s happened before) and also for contacting Trevor should you need to. I must add that the apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival - all we had to do was unpack! Mario is also on hand to meet your local needs should Trevor be unavailable. Andros is full of rustic charm, blue holes, incredible beaches and bursting with nature. We regularly saw dolphins swim by the dock outside our apartment, numerous turtles, manta rays, sting rays, ospreys, egrets, terns and so much more….. Being keen fishermen a lot of our time was spent fishing the incredible flats that Andros has to offer and recommend cross referencing sailing charts with Google Earth to source out areas to fish and also locate access points. If the weather isn’t in your favour, time is short and you’re desperate to catch a trophy bonefish you really would have to book a bonefish guide, but be aware that they can book up a year in advance, although they usually have the odd cancellation. If you do go out with a fishing guide, be honest about your casting ability etc and that way you’ll get the best out of them. One guide I can recommend is Ricardo MacKey (242-464-3323) [email protected] - he really has the patience of a saint and always does his very best to get you hooked up with fish. If you would like to snorkel or scuba dive the reef ‘Small Hope Resort’ the next bay south of Davis Creek will take you out if they’re not fully booked. Travelling north, check out Red Bays for the locally made baskets, stop by the Menonites for fresh fruit, vegetables, honey & baking. Travelling south stop by the ‘Red Door’ at Cargill Creek for something to eat, if you call ahead to book and for particular food requests (242-471-1632) Vandyke the owner always does his best to oblige and prepare a tasty meal for you and your group - his dumpling soup is delicious! Shopping can be a little challenging but you can get pretty much everything that you’ll need by going to the numerous small stores in Fresh Creek or by heading up to Nicholls Town where they have a little more variety. There is also a cash machine in Nicholls Town should you need one. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, bug spray and coffee if you can’t live without your brand of coffee! We’re looking forward to returning next year.

Reviewed By PrissyGirl82Called the Island Comfort a day before arriving on recommendation by the Ministry of Tourism Office in Fresh Creek Andros to enquire on availability; they were responsive and had availability for a room and car - just what I needed. They even picked me up at the airport! The room was clean and well maintained, I felt at home! The benefit of the restaurant on site was also another major plus, I enjoyed walking out of my room and to the dining room. Vanessa and her crew - I thank you so very much for fab weekend!
