Great hostel in an excellent location
Reviewed By Michael PGreat hostel with a friendly staff in an excellent location. I chose a single (private) room for a walk in rate of 68 RMB . The room was clean, large enough and very cozy. The bathroom was good sized with plenty of hot water. The wifi was so-so but that seems pretty common in China. The hotel is located in a neighborhood which has countless restaurants and small convince stores. I would stay here again for sure.

Reviewed By cqkaseyI stayed in this hostel (actually part of a big, beautiful, new house) for Spring Festival this year. I'm pretty sure my friends and I were among the first people to stay there. I was extremely pleasantly surprised at the warmth, friendliness, and helpfulness of the young couple who run the place. The whole house was spotlessly clean, free homemade breakfast every morning, and endless useful advice on things to do in the area and how to get there, as well as cultural and learning activities. The only negative is that the hostel is in a residential community outside the city center, but it's such a small city that it's just a short bike ride or bus ride (2 yuan) away. I will go back.

Nice place
Reviewed By Aloki123Hostel is very clean and comfortable with huge terrace and beautiful view on river and mountain. Girl running place has perfect English and can help with many things and give advice about places around which is very handy because in town people don't speak English. I enjoyed my stay here and if I come back I will go to Wanderlust again.

Price and location!
Reviewed By Arttu LLocated just 300m east from south bus station, ~opposite the new mall, little hard to find so dont trust the spot on the map. We booked large double room for two adults and two children, the price was 68y. The room was clean and we had everything we needed. Tv, kettle, ac, toiletries. If continuing your journey to Laos this is the place to get some rest and transfer. Wifi works great! Owner is very helpfull even though doesnt speak any english. There are BBQ places downstairs and big fruit market just a block away. Also Zong Fo Si temple is just few hundred metres away.

Reviewed By AkhazauhThis hostel is a number of flights up narrow stairs. You can get a better cleaner room up past Mei Mei Cafe and turn right. Numerous newer hotels to stay in, 40 Yuan a night, big clearn rooms on first, second or third floors with walkways. I repeatedly climbed the steps of this hostel to ask if they had a room, there didn't seem much appreciation that I had to do this. I then discovered all the places a half block away. Hostel is also connected to Akha missionaries Luka and Ajay in Thailand. There is no sign in English at the street, entrance is down the side of the building on uneven stones, then a small stair way entrance, still unmarked in English. This is asking a lot of a traveler when there are very clear other hotels around.
