Villa Pehuenia is a beautiful village of Mapuche heritage, embedded high in the Andes, surrounded by several surprisingly blue water lakes. In winter, there is a fairly simple ski resort, but sufficiently prepared for getting started or for those who just want to have fun.

grab a local guide, or else get yourself some hot chocolate and a bite and ride and climb or climb the panoramic spot called "El Mirador" in Villa Pehuenia. Just sit there and look around. There are also a few other panoramic views that you can find out with the locals. All of them worth the trip.

If you wish an uncommon trip plenty of surprises, you have find de right place: Villa Pehuenia, located in the province of Neuquen, Argentina. Impodi tours is an organisation managed by a young professional couple. They helped my wife and I to make real our dreams, focused in lovely landscapes, mountain climbing and 4x4 experiences. In addition we contacted with the simple live of the mapuches, the first inhabitants of the region, mainly in the 5 lagoons circuit.
A real pleasure travelling with them!

This is a short drive from La Angostura where lake Alumine and Moquehue meet. This is mapuche's land, so you need to pay a small contribution. There are5 lagoons that are nice to visit and the road is a gravel roads but it's in good condition. You can see ducks in the lagoons, and horses and cows in the road, so if you like animals, have your camera at hand.

A few kilometers from downtown Villa Pehuenia, this is a Jurassic scenery with hidden ponds and an expanse of land with pinetrees. A beautiful brook surrounded by Pehuen trees (araucarias from which the village takes its name) and the old customs house remains. You would expect a dinosaur to come rushing any time...
