My friend and I travelled from Amsterdam to Veenendaal (which is a short train ride) and went to this escape room. It is suitable for English speakers or non-Dutch speakers and the owner, Jelle can speak English too. Definitely worth a try if you are in Amsterdam, to travel here and play the escape room. Suitable for groups of 3 or more. It was so much fun! Thanks!

Schatkids (meaning: treasure kids) is a giant indoor playground, meant for tired parents to let their kids take all their energy out! There are loads of activites and attractions for kids including trampolines, rubber slides, spiderwebs, a whole labyrinth of parkour trails for kids to crawl through and ballrooms. There is even a place where you can build a house with giant lego bricks and pedal cable-cars on a track above. For parents, there are lots of Seating areas and even a box of magazines to read through. Note: You are not allowed to bring your own food, but there is a restaurant where you can buy drinks, chips and icecream. In summer the rooms can get very hot as there is not much fresh air coming in. Also be aware it is generally always very busy, especially in the holidays.

I popped in here a few months ago to look for some presents. It was clear that there was some sort of event happening in the evening and it was being set up during the day. Not only could I not see some of the products on sale because the women setting everything up were in the way, but I was subjected to a running commentary about how little input they were receiving from their manager. I came away with a feeling of irritation. And with empty hands. It was not a pleasant experience. It was a real shame because I am sure that given the space and peace in order to look at what was on offer, I could certainly have found that unusual gift for which I was looking.

Plek met verschillende manieren van vermaak; trampoline park, karten, glow in the dark golf, poolen en escape rooms. Hebben zelf een escape room gedaan en een flash room (het laatste is hetzelfde als een escape room alleen moet je er dan binnen 15 min uitkomen ipv 1 uur). Escape room en flash room zaten goed in elkaar, waren leuk! Er zijn een paar verschillende kamers qua thema. Je kan er ook eten en drinken. Waren er zelf op een zaterdag, toen was het iig gezellig druk! Vriendelijk personeel. Locatie op een industrie terrein in Veenendaal. Prima te doen op de fiets, anders genoeg parkeerplaatsen en ook de bus komt hier langs. Zowel met, als zonder kinderen aan te raden om hierheen te gaan!

Mooi opgeknapte locatie, daardoor goede banen en materiaal. Je kunt het bowlen ook combineren met hapje/drankje. Gezellige sfeer, leuk voor avondje uit. Hebben er zelf niet gegeten.

Iedere zaterdag tussen 10.00 en 16.00 uur is de molen geopend voor publiek. De molenaar van dienst geeft graag uitleg over de geschiedenis en de werking van deze korenmolen uit 1911. Indien er voldoende wind staat, worden diverse graansoorten gemalen op windkracht. Een mooi voorbeeld van duurzame technologie.

This museum tells the history of Veenendaal, which is not too remarkable. Highlights are cigar production, a major flood, and a display about the first incident in which law enforcers were shot, in the Netherlands - this shooting didn't happen in Veenendaal though. A few items from the 80-years war (cannonballs) and WWII are on display. Veenendaal is known for its 'Lampegieters', a name which suggests they manufactured light bulbs, but which derives from the celebration of St.-Lambertus, introduced by German immigrants. I think some spinning wheels may also belong to the permanent collection, but this was hard to tell, for there was a temporary exhibition about Peruvian wool, and this was not well separated from the permanent exhibition. It seemed like they used any space available in the permanent exhibition for the temporary exhibition - that should be reconsidered. The museum is in the same building as the library, and not very well indicated outside.

Hier geweest voor een hot stone massage. Mooi pand. Vriendelijke schoonheidsspecialisten. Super genoten van de hele ervaring. (betaald) Parkeren kan om de hoek. Midden in het centrum van Veenendaal, dus ook te combineren met nog even shoppen, hapje eten/drinken.

Beauty & Wellness sauna De Heuvelrug is een accommodatie gelegen in een oude boerderij die steeds verder is uitgebouwd tot een volwaardig saunacomplex. Niet zo massaal als De Zwaluwhoeve of Thermen Bussloo, maar knus, authentiek, sfeervol en gezellig. Veel mensen komen uit de omgeving en kennen elkaar.
Wij zijn hier een jaar of 5 geleden eens geweest en nu weer (via ah uitjes actie). De entree is al huiselijk, de ontvangst vriendelijk. De kleedkamers zijn modern en schoon, kluisjes werken met een zelf verzonnen code.
De ontvangst in het restaurant voor ons welkomstdrankje is ook hier weer vriendelijk. De ruimte is warm aangekleed en je voelt je er direct thuis. Ronde open haard in het midden, fijne stoelen en banken er omheen en in de serre.
Vervolgens werd ons gevraagd of we zelf op ontdekking willen of dat we een rondleiding willen. Ook hier weer allervriendelijkst. We hebben dit ook gedaan.
Er zijn verschillende sauna's (zoutsteensauna, kruidensauna, hooibergsauna, droge hete buitensauna, infraroodsauna en nieuwe Kelosauna) waarbij er twee gebruikt worden voor opgietingen. Deze worden goed uitgevoerd (Astrid en Rik) en is werkelijk genieten. Verder is er ook nog een grotsauna met haard en je ervaart hier de 4 jaargetijden op een bijzondere manier. Deze is niet heet, maar behaaglijk. Verder een binnen- en buitenzwembad, verschillende koude dompelbaden en -douches en ook warme natuurlijk. Verder een Turks stoombad (heel goed, maar wat te donker) en een hammam, en nog veel meer.
We hebben ons hier van opening tot sluiting prima vermaakt, heerlijk relaxed en gegeten en gedronken. Er is een ruime kaart en op de borden is er ook dagelijks wat aparts te bestellen.
In het geheel genomen, een prima accommodatie om een gehele dag te vertoeven. Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, goede, schone faciliteiten. Enige minpunten zijn de verlichting in de scrubruimte, Turks stoombad en hooibergsauna. Verder zeker de moeite waard !
O ja, elke 1e dinsdag van de maand tot 16.00u uitsluitend toegang voor dames, behalve tijdens de landelijke vakantieweken.
