Sellwood Park

In 1893, the town of Sellwood was merged into Portland, but has managed to keep its own identity throughout the years. The area is named for John Sellwood, an Episcopal minister who owned the land claim in what is now the Sellwood area. Sellwood Park used to be the site of the City View Racetrack.

Oaks Amusement Park

With thrill rides, roller skating, go carts, miniature golf, and more, your family will have a perfect day on the midway! Pick a partner for the roller coaster, do the "Hokey Pokey" in the skating rink, even "stick together" with some cotton candy! Fabulous birthday parties, rentable picnic areas, and Dance Pavilion indoor event venue. Amusement park open March - October, roller skating open year 'round.

This little amusement park is really fun. It’s small but that makes it very manageable for a family outing. There’s a good assortment of rides for young children, but also some bigger, scarier rides for the older kids and adults. My daughter and I took four kids on a 2-for-1 Tuesday, which is an amazing bargain; $10 for a bracelet that lets the kids on every ride except one, plus BOGO hot dogs and corn dogs. The games are pretty expensive, but everybody wins something. And parking is free. Lots of fun!

Sellwood Bridge

Completed in 1925, the narrow, two-lane bridge is often the last chance to cross the river as you move south out of Portland.

I’d do this again but go farther, at the end of this beautiful bridge walk, a trail continues along the river and i think it is even a loop. Nice wide sidewalk and not too long. Limited parking though so keep that in mind
