Samui Disc Golf

Frisbee Golf is fun for all ages. 9 Holes laid out with chain baskets. There is a lot of shade provided by the many fruit trees.

This is a short, but very technical 9 hole course in the Mae Nam area of Koh Samui. You won't need much for distance drivers, but you will need to hit your line and shape your shot. The lines are very tight. The course doesn't favor one throwing style; will will need both backhands and forehands, and straight shots, big hyzers, and s-curves. The clubhouse is great with a variety of food and drink options, as well as discs for purchase or rental. Nigel runs a catering business so if you want to have a big group come for a party they can arrange that as well. Great group of people that show up for the weekly rounds. There also is some extra acreage where they set up some additional holes for tournaments.

We have just returned to our resort after having a cooking class with Jul - what a truly fantastic experience. Open air cooking in a traditional Thai kitchen, with one-on-one teaching. We learnt about the herbs and their different uses, about the Thai cooking methods, how to use chili in different dishes, and walked amongst the herb garden. My partner and I cooked 6 different dishes between us, ate lots there, and brought home enough for another meal. Can highly recommend this class. Jul and her assistant helped us throughout and explained as we went, seeking feedback on all dishes. I think we'll be going back to learn more dishes before we fly home!

Simply amazing authentic German food prepared by a chef who has a passion for what he does.
Ludwig the owner is a lovable gentleman of German origin and he loves what he does and it shows.
EVERYTHING is made in house by Ludwig; hams, pates, bread even the butter and the schnapps are his own work.
Great plates full of rich, intense food, belly pork, pork knuckle, beef roll, it just goes on and on...accompanied by his (again) homemade spetzle ( I've probably spelt that wrong), simply wonderful homey food served to you by your Papa.
For great honest food it doesn't get any better than this.
And don't forget the schnapps!

Wat Plai Laem

Reviewed By David P - Batemans Bay, Australia

This was the first stop on our "Eco Tour"
Wat Plai Laem is a Buddhist temple compound on Samui's north-east coast featuring ,a striking white 18-arm image of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion and the Huge Happy Buddha . Wat Plai Laem offers visitors a view into Chinese-Thai beliefs as well as some elaborate Buddhist-themed art and architecture. It is a living and active temple, where devotees come daily to pay homage to Guanyin and the Buddha, who is also depicted in a number of statues and murals around the temple. This is a relatively new temple but the art techniques used in its creation are centuries-old and based on ancient beliefs. Adding to its feel of tranquillity, the temple is surrounded by a lake, which is teeming with fish. Visitors who make a donation to the temple are given a bag of food to feed the fish.
