Another visit to Hochfugen and a wonderful week's skiing that provides excellent facilities for all standards. Good T bar and chair lifts with the appropriate gondolas too so moving up and down is not a problem.

This is a long ride up, in two stages: so if it is cloudy or wet at the top, you still have access for walking on the lower slopes. The drawback is that it is a stiff walk uphill through the village from the station to the Cable Car station, and it is not well signposted.

Another great example of a thermal swimming complex the Austrians are so good at building. We visited in the evening when the swimming pool was relatively quiet with my wife and daughter able to relax in the pools, whilst I went for the full Austrian sauna experience complete with hourly aufguss sessions on the top floor which was very good. We were able to meet in the café restaurant which was accessible from both areas which served simple dishes and snacks. The time spend it the café does not count against your allotted time in the facility which is great as our 3 hours session flew past. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience but I could imagine it won't be quite as relaxing in the pools through the day when it is raining.

This free attraction is a working cheese factory. Although the only work taking place when we were there was machine wrapping butter - all the stages of cheese production are on show from a balcony level.
There is an interesting video presentation at the end of the balcony - which repeats in English if it is shoeing in a different language. About 15 mins long.
Then downstairs to the shop and cheese tasting of the 15 or so different cheeses manufactured there. No compulsion to buy and we ate our lunch there!

Been past this on many occasions, thought it would be a quick tour around the facility but we were there for over three hours, well worth the entrance fee, audio guide in English was a bonus. Restaurant ant the top of the facility well worth a visit.

Showing a lot of live of the region, a historical travel int oZillertal. They brought the famous christmas carol "Stille Nacht" (Silent night) to the rest of the world. Here you can visit a photo exhebiton and a lot of original peaces of history.

This little shop must have a visit! I can't belive i never been here before!?
I bought the best ever found "Landjäger wurst", perfect balanced smoke, salt and texture!
It's a small scale, family driven factory of hand made meat products.
Give it a try, you won't be dissapointed!

Durante la visita a Fugen si incontra questa chiesa e il suo cimitero, il campanile è ben visibile da lontano mentre il camminare nel piccolo cimitero lascia un po' perplessi sul fatto che sia comunque un punto di transito. Carine le due nicchie che servono anch'esse da passaggio esterno.

Ce télécabine fait la jonction entre le domaine de Hochfügen et celui du Spieljoch au dessus de Fügen, par une navette en car toute les 30 minutes.
Il est moderne, clair et domine une belle piste noire.
