9 Things to Do in Dammam That You Shouldn't Miss

February 20, 2018 Jacquiline Delozier

Dammam (Arabic: الدمام‎ ad-Dammām) is the capital of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The judicial and administrative bodies of the province, plus several government departments, are located in the city. Dammam is the largest city in the Eastern Province, and the sixth largest in Saudi Arabia, after Riyadh, Jeddah, Mecca, Medina and Taif. Like the other 12 regional capitals of Saudi Arabia, Dammam is not included within any governorate; instead, it is governed as a "municipality" (Arabic: أمانة‎; amanah) headed by a mayor (Arabic: أمين‎; amin).

Othaim Mall

Othaim Mall Center Point is much more better than other outlets, I have found more variety or quality in it. Rest mall is about brands or the clothing. But have some problem if you are tired, there you would not be able to find any place to sit. Usually salah timing shops are closed and you need to relax. Weekend are worse as initially you will not find the parking but I prefer going there due to some features like Center Point. And most important don't buy loads of grocery from Othaim Super Store, Why??? You will wait for the lift till end of your life to come, if it come either its going up or packed. But nice place to hang with kids.

Marina Mall is lovely place. It's a small mall (two storeys), with kids corner and food court. Most of the shops are for ladies dresses. Plenty of parking space.

Ibn Khaldoun Mall

Reviewed By Jcgmd H - Manila, Philippines

This is more of a community mall comprised of a supermarket/grocery (Hyperpanda), a food court (Herfy's, KFC, Burger King etc) and boutique shops catering mainly for families and women. The only shops that I was able to pass thru where: Koton, Centrepoint, Foot Locker, Skechers, and Beverly Hills. Don't bother to go inside Zara, H&M and Bershka, they don't have a mens section. Always look for glaring signs showing for "Families Only!"
The Starbucks on the other end like other shops in Saudi won't allow you to stay inside during prayer times so be ready to be shooed away outside to their open veranda where a lot of fruit-flies are swarming. At the same time, the lights are turned off. Don't expect the standard Starbucks friendly baristas and staff. I was also disappointed of the rather less potent espresso.

I went to this place to accompany a friend of mine. The place is really world class. Consider this a bootcamp for all those who want to climb the ladder, or dive deeper into SCUBA.
