Situated just off the main road in Beaconsfield, Cabbage Tree Hill Wines is the newest addition to the Tamar Valley Wine Region. Specialising in cool-climate Sparkling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon - Wine tastings are available 7 days (except Christmas Day) 11-5pm. Build-your-own produce platters are available to purchase - bookings essential.

What a gem location. Small, classy and with excellent vino. Staff member Kaleena, who served us, was super friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming to the venue - which is a small-ish but very ambient cellar door with a handful of outdoor tables (weather permitting). We visited in Feb and the weather was lovely so sat outside enjoying wines that we had earlier tasted. We also got a made-to-order plate of cheese and locally cured meats and spreads - delicious! Winter time would be a great time to visit also as I spotted a wood fire place in the corner as leaving. I enjoyed the Cab Sauv and girlfriend Sarah loved the Pinot Noir. What is so good about this place is that you can you touch and handle so much, from making the phones work to starting the waterwheel and powering the stamping machine. A great slice of local history. You can easily spend a couple of hours here and buying the triple pass with Platypus House and Seahorse world is good value and provides a full day out. Don't miss this.
