We visited on the recommendation of another wine host at a high end winery, and wow - what a great experience! This is a small production winery, but that means great attention to some very special wines. For a small production winery there is quite a selection though - another caveat. For us, the cabs are the big stars, especially their Aero blend and Holly’s Block single vineyard cab. Superb! The property is easy to find and yet a bit off the beaten path. The views are stunning. The weather was a bit chilly during our visit, so we look forward to returning when we might be able to enjoy their lovely deck in front of ‘Holly’s Block.’ The atmosphere is laid back and the staff here not only enjoy wine but they know their stuff. Ari was our host today and he was fantastic. Well worth a visit - this is a special place with some very special wines. Since we joined the wine club we look forward to our first shipment.

Stewart Cellars

Stewart Cellars is a second generation family business started in 2000. The winery produces premium, hand-crafted wines from the Napa Valley, Sonoma Mountain, and Sonoma Coast. Their flagship wine, Stewart NOMAD, is a highly rated vineyard designate from the Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard in Napa Valley, CA. The new Stewart Cellars tasting room is located in Yountville CA and opened during the summer of 2016. The property features the Stewart Tasting Hall and the NOMAD Heritage Library. The Tasting Hall accepts walk-in appointments but it is recommended to have a reservation for the NOMAD Heritage Library. The Tasting Hall features Stewart Cellars current releases (4 wines) for $30-45 per tasting while the NOMAD Heritage Library features Library selections from Stewart NOMAD and Stewart Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (4 wines) for $85 per tasting.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our NOMAD tasting with Teri in the NOMAD Library tasting room at Stewart Cellars. The entire property in Yountville is beautiful. The bar area is large and has a massive u-shaped tasting bar and seating along both walls. There is a large outdoor area, though it was raining the day we were there so I honestly didn't pay enough attention to provide details, but looks like the place to be on a warmer/drier day. Teri guided our NOMAD tasting in the NOMAD Library room. The room is so gorgeous, with a beautiful fireplace, and comfortable seating for our group of 5 and Teri too. I assume they could easily re-arrange a few seats and host even larger groups. Teri grew up in Napa valley so she knows the history back and forth. She conducted our tasting as a consummate professional, weaving in anecdotes and Napa valley history among the delicious full-bodied NOMAD cabernets that are Stewart Cellar's signature wines from the 6 Beckstoffer vineyards in Napa valley. There was a mouth-watering spread of fantastic cheese, crackers, and nuts too. This was our first visit to Stewart Cellars, but we became members of their semi-annual wine club before we left so this is just the first of many visits. If you are anywhere near Yountville (or plan to be), be sure to schedule a visit with Teri in the NOMAD Library.

Domaine Chandon

You must be of legal drinking age to engage with us. Please enjoy responsibly. Domaine Chandon was the first winery to be established in the United States by a French wine and spirits producer, Moet Hennessy. Today, Chandon is America's leading sparkling wine producer, applying methode traditionnelle techniques to showcase the ripe fruit and vibrant character of California. We host educational and fun tours of our winery and offer light food options in our tasting room or on our extensive terrace.

Big production wineries can be a bit intimidating if you’re not into big crowds. Chandon has figured out how to appeal to both the folks who like the big box experience as well as those who want something a little more intimate. Since we like fun experiences the mixology class really appealed to us - and it was really fun! Our host, Marcos, was very engaging and guided the group (about 12 people in total) through the creation of three different cocktails, utilizing three different sparkling wines (brut, sparkling rose, and blanc de noir). We felt as though we learned a lot from him - he knows the different varietals really well and also his mixology! As we were leaving we asked him to help us to select some bottles to ship home, and he encouraged us to taste a few more - that resulted in us shipping home a case! This was a REALLY fun experience which I highly recommend. Whether you’re getting ready to host a celebration or are wanting to add to your cocktail recipe collection, it’s worth making a reservation.
