Reviewed By Nicolasx721The virtual check-in experience might have been fun if the remote receptionist on the phone had made the effort to be friendly, and… if she had spoken English correctly. Let's move on to the sinister atmosphere of this unstaffed hotel lobby, the room was just dirty: hair in the shower and in the beds, sheets folded up without having been changed (!), and leftovers from previous guests on the desk. Because of the absence of staff in the hotel, it was impossible to ask for a clean room, and from 9:00 p.m., no one would answer the phone. Last inconvenience, the breakfast service was canceled, "due to Covid". Nice excuse :( Run away from this hotel.

Reviewed By W589RMdonnakGreat location. Very clean and it was also quiet. This bed and breakfast is a great value. Breakfast was nice next door. The coffee was very good also. We had a group of six with three rooms and we were all very comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Reviewed By CazWrightLovely location, we booked a studio room with views onto Kirkjufell Mountain, it didn't disappoint. The rooms were a good size, clean and well furnished, there are common areas for cooking and eating and there are several restaurants in the village although only Kaffi59 was open when we were there. we were luck to have a spectacular Aurora on one night we were there, however this was followed by a severe storm and the owner came round to advise us not to travel as it was too dangerous with winds close to 90mph, so we stayed an extra night and staff kept us updated with regards to the road conditions.

Reviewed By EisenbahnbaerDas Zimmer im Stöð Guesthouse war einfach, aber sauber. Der Ausblick auf ein Industrie-/Gewerbegebiet war grausam, es gibt aber wohl auch Zimmer mit Ausblick auf den Kirkjufell, wir hatten wohl einfach Pech mit dem Zimmer. Die Zimmer liegen im ersten Stock, man muss bereits im Erdgeschoss seine Schuhe ausziehen und geht dann auf Socken mit allem Gepäck auf der Treppe nach oben. Verständlich im Winter, aber schon etwas ungewohnt. Hatte etwas von Jugendherberge, genau wie die Gemeinschaftsküche, von der wir nur den Wasserkocher genutzt haben. Aber preislich für Island recht günstig, von daher insgesamt ok.

Reviewed By 55guille55Very nice and clean hotel. Staff was super nice. Breakfast was good and tasty (good fruit, bread and variety). I would repeat for sure. There is also a jacuzzi outside where you can enjoy the view while being in the jacuzzi

Helgugata Guesthouse is situated in the small town of Borgarnes. This house is one of the best known houses in town. Throughout the years, the town sheriff resided there. Now the house has been renovated while maintaining the original look and feel. Standing on a cliff, the house offers stunning views. There are two common living areas.

L’accoglienza non è delle più calorose e subito veniamo informati dall’Host che non avremmo potuto usare la cucina. Facciamo notare che nell’annuncio l’uso della cucina è inserito nei servizi offerti perciò chiamiamo booking per informarli della situazione, dopo 20 min di attesa ci risponde il call center e ci informa che avrebbero contattato la struttura al riguardo, purtroppo l’host non gestisce direttamente le prenotazioni per cui dobbiamo attendere che Rosa la responsabile ci autorizzi ad usare la cucina. Dopo aver atteso in piedi circa 1h30 alla fine veniamo informati che avremmo potuto usare la cucina in via eccezionale e con molta reticenza. Al nostro arrivo in cucina l’host ci allunga due piatti ed una pentola, ma in realtà avremmo bisogno di posate ed almeno un tagliere e coltello per preparare, sempre con la stessa reticenza riusciamo finalmente ad ottenerli... L’indomani al momento della colazione, dato che quasi tutte le camere erano occupate e la cucina non può accogliere più di 4 persone, ci sistemiamo sul tavolo in ingresso che si trova tra le porte del bagno e della doccia; mangiare tra aromi non esattamente piacevoli non è stato il massimo. Concludendo, gli €80 spesi misti all’accoglienza non delle più cordiali forse sono un po’ troppo....

Reviewed By panyawattThe apartment is just right at the corner of street, it is 2 bed rooms , 2 unit : no. A on the 2nd floor and no. B on the ground floor. The apartment is full of furnitures and equipments that are necessary for living. The plus point is there is a washing machine and dry machine. So we can wash cloth even stay only one night here. There is a supermarket just opposite the apartment. Recommend to stay here if you plan to visit Kirkjufell as it is only 23 km = 21 min drive.
