Walking to this cave monastery is an adventure in itself. You walk down the valley wall and then hug the wall until you get to the cave. The head clearance is very low. It's hard to imagine somone living here but the views are great and you get some insight into the hermits of years past.

Mussaylha Fort

Reviewed By dmittleman - Palm Beach Gardens, United States

This fort is strategically located at an obvious access point. Often times, an antique fort seems to loose it's sense of place and purpose. Not so with this fort. It's obvious how important it was. Standing atop a lone rocky outcrop, it's worthwhile to climb to the top for great views.

Phoenician Wall

Reviewed By halcatra - Edinburgh, United Kingdom

It is one of not many phoenician structures we can still admire. The origins of the wall are not 100% confirmed, it could be part of the defence system but it could be also remains of the stone pit. The wall is beautifully located at the seaside, which makes amazing scenery for photos any time of the day and all year around.

Saydet el Nouriyi Monastery

Reviewed By Egastent - Flowery Branch, United States

I have never visited before leaving the country 30 years ago. I just took my family on the first visit back since nine years. The place was quiet, serene and the lower small historic church carved in the rock riveting. It is gated with a key given Upon request. This explains why it has not been commercialized. And there lies beauty. Unlike Harisa, one can still feel overwhelmed with a sense of faith without the hustle and bustle of surrounding cafes and picnic tables. Wonder how long it will stay that way ! Go see it !
