December 11, 2021 Velvet Mowry

Its location just 60 miles from the southern rim of the Grand Canyon makes Williams a popular stop for visitors to the natural beauty of Arizona. The historic Grand Canyon Railway makes it southern stop here, ferrying hundreds of thousands of tourists every year to and from the Canyon on its hundred-year-old steam-powered line. In the more immediate surrounds, the Kaibab National Forest and the Bill Williams Mountain area provide ample opportunities for camping, hiking and adventure.

Grand Canyon Deer Farm

Located on a section of old Route 66, the Deer Farm is 10 acres of absolute animal wonderland. Walk a path around our park to view wallabies, llamas, mini cattle, bison, peacocks, & much more. Walk with deer, feed the deer right from your hands. Chat with a parrot, Mozart is a very entertaining cockatoo, Scarlet (a lilac crowned Amazon Parrot) a bit more shy, pet a goat, kiss a camel. You will have a blast here if you are an animal lover.

The Grand Canyon Deer Farm is a must for all families visiting northern Arizona. It is so much fun. For a very small fee, you can feed the deer. They are so sweet and cute. There are also many other animals to see. It was a really good time!

Phenomenal views for hundreds of miles in every direction

Got some clearance on your vehicle? You only need a little to tackle this fun road. We almost didn't try it because I read it would be bumpy, it wasn't at all and was very scenic, with thick trees and cooler temps welcoming you on the way to the top. We walked up part of the fire tower stairs for an incredible view, and spent nearly as much time ogling the trillions of ladybugs in the bushes. Hit the road up and have fun.

Buckskinner Park

Reviewed By d2016h - Minnesota, United States

We (family with 14 yr old and 11 yr old) were using Williams as a base for exploring northern AZ and had a down day between Grand Canyon and Sedona visits. This park was literally across the street from our AirBB and we thought we’d take a little hike. It was 2.5 mile loop to follow the Buckskinner Path to the Williams City Path — it ended up dumping us out a few blocks from the entrance to the park. Fun path with lots of trees, boulders, and animal tracks tho we didn’t see any animals besides birds. Not many views because of the trees. It was early March so lots of snow and ice and mud but moderate to easy going.
