Florida Botanical Gardens

Reviewed By jamiel0uh - Midlothian, United States

Having grown up in south Florida, I was thrilled to see flowers, plants and gardens reminiscent of my childhood home in one location. The many and varied paths, landscapes and habitats provided an array of sights and fragrances that brought back many memories. The cactus and succulent garden was particularly noteworthy, but the gardenia hedges, bromeliads, palms, and butterfly plants were equally interesting. There is a children’s trail with six activity stations, in addition to the wedding garden, spaces for special events and private parties, classes, and a great gift shop. This is a cooperative effort by Pinellas County and the University of Florida’s extension service.

This is a nice place to get your thoughts together and also get some nature in. The volunteers know a lot about the birds and enjoy sharing what they know.
