Mariendom

Architecture and its furnishings - two organs, magnificent altar, magnificent pulpit, remarkable glass windows, etc. - it is rightly a wonderful landmark of the city of Linz. As it is sizewise the largest Gothic church in Austria, even bigger than the Stephansdom in Vienna, a definite must see. And take a while to enjoy the magnitude.

Hohenrausch 2021

The Linzer Hohenrausch Museum is great fun for children, families and adults. The art and technology displays are engaging. However, the real fun is the tower, outdoor beach area, rooftop garden and children play maze. All of these are designed above the museum roof structure. GREAT views across the city. I would skip climbing up church steeples and just go here for a view. PS - on sunny days children (and maybe some adults ) can cool off with bathing suits at the rooftop water sprinkler area.

Martinskirche

Reviewed By mariadJ2030ZG

If you climbed the hill and visited the castle of Linz, go further behind the castle and you will find the oldest church in Austria. Built on Roman ruins, the original building was erected at the end of the 8th century and underwent several modifications. Roman and gothic elements are visible on the outside. The church can be visited during service. Otherwise thew interior and the frescoes from the 14th and 15th centuries can be seen through a glass door. For lovers of history and architecture a must see.
