Mtarazi Falls

Reviewed By Fortune_Madhuku - Harare Province, Zimbabwe

Spectacular and awesome views of the Mtarazi falls. The road to the falls is not that good, about 19km from the tarred road along a bumpy dusty road, but the falls are worth a visit. Although charges for skyline and skywalk are a bit high, it's worth the sacrifice. Like most attraction sites in Nyanga, you need to bring your picnic basket as there are no places selling food anywhere near. The place is so nice that you need to dedicate the whole afternoon. One thing to note is that the Far and Wide office closes at 4pm so it is a good idea to start with skyline and skywalk, then finish with the walk to the view site for the falls - there you can watch the falls until late, as long as there is daylight. However, as the road to the falls is not the best you can drive along, it is wise to budget time so that you drive back to the tarred road while there is still daylight.

Mount Nyangani

Reviewed By Countrywide01 - Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

I always talk about this place so much in Nyanga because it is a place I love dearly. I lived near here as a child and spent many happy weekends picnicking in these mountains, swimming in freezing waterfalls. About 100 kms north of Mutare, the Nyanga Mountains form part of the Eastern Highlands that form Zimbabwe’s border with Mozambique. The land is high, rising from 1,800m to a peak of 2,593m at Mount Nyangani, the highest point in Zimbabwe. Much is made of the fact that this is the home of the African clawless otter, but you’d have to look hard to see one and there is truthfully little in the way of wildlife – the odd blue duiker or kudu, samango and vervet monkeys.

Chimanimani Mountains National Park

Reviewed By ropahtravels - Zimbabwe, null

My road trip from Mutare to Chimanimani was awesome. All roads destroyed by the Cyclone Idai were repaired. It took us 2hrs 30mins to get to Chimanimani We stayed at Chimanimani hotel for 2nights.The following morning we went for hiking, late I must say.We started hike at around 11:30am and it took me 3hours to get to the Mountain Hut. • The hike is a bit challenging but manageable. The landscape is outstanding. I highly recommend you book a guide with ZimParks in advance and put up at the Base camp if you want to get to Mt Binga. You can also put up at the Mountain Hut and proceed to Mt Binga the following morning. Whether you want a days hike or multiday, go as a group, its more fun and interesting, unfortunately my friend couldnt join me for the hike but i got a good guide from ZimParks. • When weather is clear, take as many beautiful shots as you can cz weather is quiet dramatic, can change anytime, become misty and you wont be able to capture the lovely scenes. Avoid travelling during rainy season, road from the Village to the mtn is slippery and the bridge they made at Haroni river can be tricky to cross. The trip is for the adventurous however i loved it and am planning to go back this year.
