A truly incredible property with beautiful rooms, lots of eye catching flora and fauna, delicious food and warm hospitality, this is a great place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Stay : We stayed at their Groove view suite, a complete state of the art european chalet style room that will leave you spellbound. With a cozy and warm ambience this suite is one of the best we’ve stayed at. It has heated floors, an electric fireplace, a huge bathroom with a bathtub, a massive balcony, study, a comfy bed and more. The room is studded with opulent upholstery and offers stunning views of the sprawling wilderness. Dining : While offering a memorable and luxurious stay, Coorg wilderness resort is also a great F&B destination with two main restaurants offering incredible food. Habba their multicuisine, all day dining restaurant offers a sprawling buffet spread with ala carte options too, surrounded by untouched views of the misty hills. Experience cuisines from all over India in a plush and cozy ambience as you devour a delicious meal at Habba. Vembanad is a one of a kind specialty restaurant offering seafood and local Coorg cuisine that will tantalise your tastebuds. The food is rich and bathed deep in the history and culture of the local people, honouring and heroing the beautiful local produce of Madikeri. Activities at the property : You’ll be spoilt for choice with the sheer number and variety of fun activities at Coorg wilderness resort that will keep you busy all day. We went on a beautiful nature walk and explored the rich flora and fauna of the area with a tour of their coffee plantation too. After this, head on to a special coffee experience session with their head barista to learn all about coffee from bean to cup. Apart from this you can also wake up early and go bird watching to see some incredible bird species of Coorg or go on for a sunset walk in the evenings with beautiful views. Nikaay spa : Relax and rejuvenate amidst the cool weather and calming mountains with a lovely therapy at Nikaay spa. We indulged in a head massage and a full body aromatherapy treatment that left us with a sense of utter relaxation and calmness. How to reach : We flew down to Mangalore from Mumbai and then the hotel had arranged for a pick up and drop from Mangalore airport to the property which is around 3.5 hours. You can also travel from Bangalore/Mysore/Kannur. Overall we had an unforgettable experience at Coorg wilderness resort. It’s truly the epitome of a luxurious gateway amidst nature.

We traveled with two kids below 6 years of age and were very happy with the hospitality, food and comfort provided by this resort. Definitely a great place for family with young kids as the villa are very spacious with two beds and food has lots of variety.

Miserable stay in Coorg Gavadana
Reviewed By NitinKumarOur misery started on Fri 15th Apr, a beautiful evening with a cool breeze and we finally landed at Coorg Gavadana. Misery 1 (Arrival): We were excited as our 4 family kids were looking for getting together after a long, however, the excitement didn't last long as after arrival we got to know that rooms are not ready. Imagine 4:30 PM and rooms not ready. Misery 2 (Dinner): On both 2 nights of our stay we faced the severe issue with food availability. Lack of staff and lack of experience, no plans. They take the order and the real panic game starts, staff neither know how to meet the expectations nor have a plan to handle the resident's food request on their property. The food served was soggy, smelly and tasted less...after a lot of confrontation, they accepted the incapability of preparing the menu items and told us that they are only good at preparing dal, roti, and parantha. Ideally, staff should be truthful and must share the info as-is instead of experimenting. Misery 3: Housekeeping: They lacked in this service as well even though housekeeping is an essential service for any hospitality industry but due to lack of staff they have no clue on how to handle and manage the requests. After our check-in, for the next 2 days no cleaning was done, no water bottle replacement, no towel replacement. service was zero. If asked they try to meet it asap but the challenges were visible in everything, and all the time. Misery 4: Mr Karthik, I must admit he is humble, helpful and approachable but the art of first saying yes and later saying I didn't say is need to be learnt from him. I can understand his pressure and also all the time I empathise with him. But I am a customer, and I paid premium (room rent equivalent to 5-star hotels) and in return, I was given a room but with no service at all, that's not how the service industry works. Suggestions: 1. Start saying No if you cannot. 2. Hire more professionals with experience, especially in the kitchen and front desk 3. Be more cautious about the kid's needs, they cannot wait for dinner until 11 PM. I appreciate the help and patience demonstrated by Ms Anitha. BTW, I saw all the guests fighting for food, cleanliness and staff support.

Hilldale Resorts is a quaint resort situated in the charming hills of Coorg located opposite the Indian Oil Petrol Bunk in Mysore.
