Trip to the Somme
Reviewed By tomwC6789RNTravelled on my motorbike to visit my great grandfathers grave in the Somme. By chance I chose this fantastic town and hotel. The location is absolutely fantastic. The great war museum is in the town and great bars and food is available around the town. I'd like to give a special mention to Raul who was the best host and helped me with my getting my bike in and out of the secures parking area. This hotel will not dissapont! 5*****

Excellent B&B in Péronne
Reviewed By davyjdThis cosy B&B makes a perfect base for exploring the Somme and 1918 battlefields. I always stay at Au Noir Lion when I'm in the area because it is so convenient: Péronne has much more going for it than tired, old Albert. Sophie and Alain are delightful hosts, there is off-road parking on site and the breakfasts are wonderful. Thoroughly recommended.

Reviewed By T1969LSAmazing site, great hosts, brand new toilet/shower block. Peronne within walking distance with the Great War museum, bars and restaurants. The hosts managed to phone the vet to get our dog in for his meds to get back into uk, so quick and easy

Reviewed By BatWillow68What a great bed and breakfast. Very clean, great rooms and a lovely couple running it. The breakfast has to be the best one we have had anywhere in the world and that is saying something. Quiet, large rooms with modern bathroom. Room to sit in the courtyard with a draft beer or cidre ( included). Lovely coffee and tea making facilities with spirits and beer in the lounge and a great pool table. Restaurants in the town a short walk.

Value for money and friendly management
Reviewed By JerseyCowBrumIt is a municipal site so basic and the toilets fit that style, but it is very clean and well organised (I did struggle to find the light for the loo at night and make sure you take toilet paper and soap!), but felt secure for a site in the middle of a town. We were literally there overnight and no issues. Our boys were less keen - but then they had come from a riverside campsite in the Dordogne, to this, where slightly noisier town environment with fences and locks.

Fantastic find
Reviewed By JHT878We arrived in Peronne having not booked anywhere. We went to one property but they were fully booked and suggested we tried Som’Hom. We were lucky to be able to have the last duplex apartment, which consisted of an upstairs double bedroom and bathroom and downstairs kitchenette and lounge area with large sofa bed. An ideal unit for us as a family of 4. The property is located just off the village square, which has a number of bars, restaurants, a mini supermarket & bakery and others shops. The area has a lovely feel to it and we would definitely stay again if in the area.

Reviewed By susanbI9588QIThis hotel is more of a hostel. We were shown to our room which had an appalling smell of cigarettes. The room next door was occupied by a young man who was sitting on a chair outside his door smoking and drinking lager. It felt very uncomfortable. We were shown an alternative room which also smelt of stale cigarettes. Money was taken from card before arrival and after many attempts can’t engage with the hotel. The whole place was very tired and felt grubby. AVOID!!
