My partner and I stayed in an Overwater Villa for 5 nights in June. As a well seasoned traveller, I have traveled to many destinations around the world, stayed in many accommodations and this by far was the number 1 for us. Aside from the obvious pristine views and flawlessly build resort, what really made it the best is the people. Everyone we encountered went above and beyond. A special thanks to Ahsaaf, Ali, Abu, and all the guys at the Watersports. Such a friendly and welcoming bunch, I really appreciate that they actually took the time to teach every activity, not just strap you in like many other resorts do. A massive thank you to all the chefs at Mélange, especially Chef Salauddin. The fish was the most delicious and kindest gesture. Really appreciate the above and beyond attitude and welcoming nature. He is such an asset to the resort and really completed the five star experience. Chef Tarek, I don’t know how you make those soups but it was by far the best I have tasted. Big thank you to the guys on the boat tours, both the sunset cruise and snorkelling. Their friendliness, positivity and knowledge was outstanding. We really appreciated the fishing, and pointing out every dolphin, turtle and shark that came past. When one of the other guests snorkelling mask stopped working, without hesitation gave theirs. Such a wonderful time we all had. Thank you to all the staff that turned the experience from a nice holiday to an experience of a lifetime. We will see you again, as will our friends and family. - Hanna and Laurence

exclusive & luxuriously relaxing anniversary vacation in remote paradise

Reviewed By 415candicem

My husband & I spent 7 days & nights at the resort celebrating a milestone anniversary in a beach pool villa. The tiny island locale was perfectly remote with long shores and reefs to explore. The resort offered enough common areas and food options while maintaining the barefoot luxury feel and protecting the integrity of the limited island resources. Everything was beautifully groomed, updated, and easy to access/take advantage of within a short-but-private walk. The staff was phenomenally friendly and helpful. Our villa was absolutely perfect - tucked in unobtrusively on the beach with a private infinity pool, sizable room and bathroom with an additional, large outdoor tub/shower area in back. It was impeccably cleaned, refreshingly cool, and offered great amenities and extra towels, treats, water, and lighting options. We most enjoyed relaxing on the beach, snorkeling, dining/drinking, and sunset/sunrise yoga on the piers daily. We took advantage of the beach BBQ the first night of our arrival. It was the best meal we had and a significant price addition to our meal plan, offering a buffet of international dishes, desserts, and meats & seafoods grilled to order. The wine buffet was another price point we did not partake in. Surprisingly, the BBQ was offered later in the week. We bought it again, but in hind site two beach BBQs probably weren't worth the investment. We had the half board meal plan, which included breakfast and 3-courses at dinner. It was the right choice for us as we didn't plan on having large lunches or several alcoholic beverages. The main dining area was beautiful and offered plenty of options. For an additional price (with a discount) we also had dinner at the Grill restaurant - our second-best meal. Daily breakfast was great and plentiful; and we lacked for nothing, but don't expect a huge buffet like some other Hyatt resorts. Cocktails weren't cheap, but they were delicious. The signature massage spa ritual was divine! The Equator Tour was not worth the high price. Snorkeling was better at the resort. The boat ride was bumpy. The dolphins weren't friendly that day. The beach picnic was comprised of cool seafood and cracker/dip options only and was prepared on an uninhabited island covered in trash. Similar excursions in other remote island resorts delivered more for a lower price. Overall, the trip was incredible!

Absolutley Perfect !

We are just back from 8 nights at The Residence Falhumaafushi with our 2 teenage children and we were just blown away by it. We stayed in the 2 bed overwater bungalow with pool and it was just outstanding. The 2 bedrooms were identical in size as were the bathrooms and the views were breathtaking ! We went all Inclusive . I would highly recommend this especially for families and we had such a choice of restaurants to eat in between this island and Dhigurah which is connected by a wooden bridge. Quality of food was excellent ! We found the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Francis was in charge of stocking up our mini bar and nothing was too much trouble and was so friendly and professional. Joynal was in Housekeeping and such a perfectionist and again a beautiful personality. He made up a turtle and crocodile from towels and left them on our beds and not to mention set up a beautiful bath one evening full of petals for us. We also got to know Laxman at the beach bar and he was always so delighted to help us with Dinner reservations and getting us to try new foods. He proved very popular with the guests as also Layman in the Italian restaurant too. From the minute we arrived till the minute we left we could not find fault with anything. We were hesitant about travelling in May as we believed it was Monsoon season but the weather was absolutely amazing every single day. Every facility is spotless and all of the staff were so courteous. 10/10 for everything and was so well organised from when we arrived in Male & Kadhdoo when we were met by a representative from The Residence till we got back to Male. Everything went like clockwork. We will definitely be back. We travelled from Ireland and was a long haul but was worth every second of it. Was so sad to leave the island !

A special place ❤️

What an amazing resort. Our over water lagoon villa was beautiful. The kids loved the pool and paddling in the lagoon with the little black tip sharks and other fish. The food was fantastic across all the restaurants but special mention to Hafiz from the dining room who really made us feel especially welcome every visit - Top level hospitality ⭐️ The kids club was really quiet but the kids loved Shafa who kept them really well entertained and they were keen to spend lots of time there. Highlights were the snorkelling to the house reef and the drop off, spotting the wildlife whilst crossing the bridge on our bikes and the sunset dolphin cruise. The journey is tiring but well worth it!!!
