Reviewed By RHOMThe place was very clean. Central location makes it a convenient place to stay. No lack of parking on the street close to the hotel. The hotel is a short walk from very nice cafes and restaurants, pharmacies and supermarkets. Though central, we enjoyed silence during our sleep. Front rooms have some street noise till early eve., and the rooms at the back probably got the worst of a noisy party in the neighbourhood till midnight on Sat.. All quieted down afterwards. All the staff except one were very helpful and courteous. At check-in, the receptionist was a lot more concerned about resolving a personal bank issue over the phone than attending to us. After we filled out the check-in form, we were handed a key and told our room was upstairs - no interruption to the conversation on the phone. It is possible to guess that the stairs are next to the reception behind a wall, but there could be another set of stairs. The receptionist rudely waved us towards those stairs when asked which stairs we were supposed to take. Though we did not need it, there was no offer to help us with luggage at that point. Fortunately, we did not see that receptionist for the remainder of our stay. Some guests complained about lack of variety at breakfast. We thought it was good given it is "free".

Great family getaway
Reviewed By angelfireBrazilWe were 4 couples and 6 kids staying during a long weekend. We all had a great time. The room are big and clean and so is the bathroom, all meals were really well prepared and very good. The surroundings are definately the best part. Big grass area for the kids, nice fireplace inside and outside. Good pool and playground area. Some animals as well. Really close to the vineyards of the area. And they also have a good wine selection in the house. Will for sure come back!

Everything was just perfect: check-in, check out, delicious (and lovely) coffee and homemade cake at 5 pm everyday, amazing and very complete breakfast... not to mention dinner. One night we had pumping soup, salad with poached egg, risotto with ossobuco, and another night salads, lentil soup, barbecue ribs and fish and banana with chocolate flavored with coffee as dessert, all by the campfire, under the moon. Service was always very efficient but also warm and kind. Our room (Venus) was very nicely decorated, as everything at Casa da Pedra where details are not just details but are thought and planned to be perfect. Trussardi towels (best quality label), 1.500-thread Egyptian cotton sheets and first quality amenities. Warmed pool is great, as well as the house surroundings, where one can go for some easy and nice trekking. Paulo and Wellington were great at front desk and Pedro at the kitchen. We would love to return here.

Good cost-benefit to anyone going to work
Reviewed By Fernando_VasquesWe were a group of 5 people and we went to work. We had a peaceful sleep. It small garage at the rear. Clean and simple room. Internet worked well. Good breakfast with 2 types of fruits and fruit room too. Variety of breads, scrambled eggs and "salcicha" sauce. Two types of juices to drink. It is one block from the central square there is the only legal bar in town. The service on arrival and departure was very good and friendly. The cost is about U.S. $ 150.00 per night. The elevator needs reform because it makes noise and only carries four people at the same time and the negative aspects of the hotel.
