Didn’t realize it was a hostel! Not a fan

Booked a private room for 4 for our family and I didn’t like it whatsoever : no privacy as it was on thé way across from the communal kitchen and absolutely NOT quiet with people yapping super early am up to late night in that open kitchen. This explains why they gave us so many earplugs smh! Then thé bar played loud music with deep bass until past 11pm. There were 4 bunk beds -that looked like concentration camp ones- and a full bed. Anyhow it’s great for single young travelers that travel alone and can sleep for cheap in any condition. That’s not me lol!

Reviewed By JamesHibbleDON'T BOOK CYLINDERS (look good but completely impractical) Dissapointing place made worse by staff who just do not care in the slightest. Cons: -Usless staff -cloudy pool, with no one daring to go in it -they insist on cash only , charge 5% for cards - Almost nothing available in terms of food or even a cold drink Pros: - Quite central - Very good quality showers and toilets Enthusiastic staff would have made a huge difference. Some people left early to swap to poshpackers.

Excellent and cheap
Reviewed By Robi GThe place is on the main street of la fortuna. We ordered 2 night, and then we added one night. Everything was excellent, especially in relation to the cheap price. The brakefast was good too. We used the pool which was a really nice spot for the end of our days. Mario in the reception was very nice and helpful.

Nice Place Hostal se encuentra en una zona preciosa, rodeada de vegetación y escondida de la congestión urbana y el ruido, este hostal ofrece el mejor ambiente para unas vacaciones agradables. En el hostal todas nuestras acogedoras habitaciones cuentan con baño y agua caliente, también hay habitaciones con ventilador y aire acondicionado. Encontrará una cocina totalmente equipada, donde podrá preparar sus comidas, también sala de estar con TV. Internet de alta velocidad y terraza. Cerca del lugar hay una gran cantidad de buenos restaurantes que ofrecen un excelente servicio y cocina, así como numerosos bares, pubs y clubes nocturnos que garantizan un buen entretenimiento. ¡Amables anfitriones y excelente servicio te esperan!

Besides, the location is great and nearby city centre. Our room was perfect with good bed and airco. Had a great time and we recommend you to stay here at la fortuna Nothing

Reviewed By Monica_CSRVery nice place to stay. You're in the middle of La Fortuna with a supermarket right next door. Quite the chill place with a small pool, hammocks and chairs to catch some sun. There's a bar near the pool and 2 kitchens. The room was nice and clean, with a comfortable bed. The receptionists were very helpful. Only downside is the loud fan in the room, which was unfortunately necessary since the room for very hot.

Tranquility & hospitality extraordinaire.
Reviewed By asgert2013I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Lumbres del Arenal Cabinas y Villas, for an unforgettable 10 days. This family owned, small resort, located just on the foothills of the Arenal volcano, about 10 km outside of La Fortuna, and 3 km from the Tabacon hotsprings, is just a beautiful hidden gem. In the middle of nature, surrounded by wildlife, and with an amazing vista of the volcano, you can just sit back in the lush garden and enjoy the tranquility. The owners are some of the kindest people I have ever met, and they did more than one could expect, to make you feel at home. The rooms are great at the price, and both clean and comfortable. The resorts own Steakhouse/restaurant "El Novillo del Arenal" is definitely also worth a visit. All in all, I absolutely enjoyed my 10 days here. If you are looking for cheap accommodation in the middle of nature, but close enough to the many attractions surrounding volcano Arenal. If you like me prefer nature, wildlife and tranquility instead of luxury resorts, all while enjoying the amazing hospitality of the owners. Look no further!

Comfy and cozy hotel with private and shared rooms, a full kitchen and living room at the edge of La Fortuna downtown. Surrounded by a small forest and El Burio river, milking cows, sheep, ducks, hens, pets, lots of birds, our VIP visitor “Flash” the sloth, iguanas and more wildlife you will encounter as you get to know our familiar property. All places in town are less than 5 min by car.

Reviewed By juliedevaFirst of all, the people who run this place are great. They provided us with lots of information (in English), gave us tips and booked tours for us. They were very pro-active in making our stay perfect for us. It’s a family owned place and they started running the hotel in the beginning of 2019, but are already doing a great job. The accomodation and facilities were good and the location is nice, not in the middle of the city center but very close.
