Carver Hill Orchard

Reviewed By CityGurl13 - Alexandria, United States

My sister and I spent the day here. We had a splendid time! We wanted to visit a true family farm and we weren't disappointed. The people were friendly and helpful. There were plenty of apples as well as tomatoes, peppers, and berries. The apple cider donuts were out of this world! I felt like a kid again! Can't wait to go again.

We always have a wonderful time at honey pot hill. Wholesome family fun in the fall. Apple picking (huge, beautiful orchards with lots of apple varieties), huge hedge maze, farm animals, & delicious cider donuts. We were there for 4.5 hours. Can’t wait to go back!

Shelburne Farm

Reviewed By MichaelfromMedford - Medford, United States

Many folks have described Shelburne Farm as a great place for family fun... that's true, and Sue and I used to bring our kids and (later) grandchildren there... but now we find it's a wonderful place to go for a quiet weekday excursion... Today, Friday, we arrived in the early afternoon... not many other folks were there, but there was a wide variety of apples on the trees... and unlike last year, when a hailstorm bruised the fruit, this year's apples were large and perfect!... We always begin our visit with a few freshly made warm, cinnamon-sugar cider doughnuts and a cup of coffee... then we're off into the orchard... the staff lets you know where each variety of apple can be found, and you can stroll from site to site... On weekends the Farm is indeed bustling and a font of family fun... but weekend days offer the exceptional treat of those warm cider doughnuts, being out in nature, and slowly selecting the apples you'll take home to enjoy for the next several weeks. I noticed many mothers and small children also taking advantage of visiting during the week.

Under the new management, the condition of the two courses is much improved, as are general operations. There are two courses, so pace of play is generally good. There is a grill room with liquor license and decent food. There is an excellent golf pro. They have a nice function room as well. .
