Oh it's a lovely bridge, saves oodles of time in travel and costs, but it is paying the toll that is the problem. We have just returned from a wonderful two week vacation in BC, the greater Vancouver area and Vancouver Island. It was perfect (apart from the smoke smog due to the fires - but that can't be helped unfortunately). The two weeks were astonishing apart from our experience of Golden Ears Bridge. Not the structure or the very valuable function it performs in getting from Langley to Maple Ridge ( cutting journey time by up to 40 minutes - no, it's paying the toll that was the issue for us.
Having been screwed previously by a Toll company for $1200 between the tolls, the admin charges and the court fines we were not anxious to go down that route again. We crossed the bridge on the first occasion coming from the ferry to Maple Ridge not realising that it would prove so difficult to pay the toll. We were staying in Langley and in order to pay the toll we had to visit the Toll Office on Harris St so it was necessary to cross the bridge a second time or spend 50 minutes avoiding the bridge Since we were going to the toll office anyway to pay for the first crossing and since the toll was only $4.45 we figured we'd suck it up.....that was a mistake. We were driving a Rental Car and you cannot pay the toll yourself if you are in a rental car. You must wait for the toll to be processed, an invoice issued to Thrifty which will include Admin Charges and a late fee charge and an additional admin charge by Thrifty to process the xxxxx. At this point we are unsure what the eventual cost will be but it will be at least 5 times the original Toll.
Why can't Golden Ears Bridge allow the toll to be paid on-line like Port Mann Bridge.
Our advice is simple. If you are from out of town or are renting a car, avoid GEB like the plague. It is not worth the hassle and crossing by any of the other Bridges offer a much pleasanter journey, with brilliant views and nice places to visit.

Our first stop in at this winery's store with target being their blueberry wine. Their wines are made from their own grown fruit. Good friendly service.
Taste testing confirmed that I wanted to buy the blueberry wine. Very nice. Reasonably priced. Give them a try - I will be back.

Access is off 122 or Advent, street parking only. This is a great park: established second growth trees, gravel walking paths that meander the park, shade, and lots of birds in the area. Probably what much of Pitt Meadows use to be like. There are no benches to sit on, or washrooms. (I did see any) several walks ways lead you around this small park. Very few garbage cans but there is a fenced 'off leash' dog park....bring your own clean up bags. Sadly, there is litter around and cigarette butts. There is an all year fitness area with a handful of pieces of workout equipment. A great place for a short walk.

The plan for this green space is awesome; the planners deserve a lot of credit. This is a 30 + km green space along the banks of the Fraser and Pitt River Dykes. It is easily accessable from a number of locations in Pitt Meadows. From Sawyers Landing near the Golden Ears Bridge around Pitt Meadows and runs along the river passed under the Loughheed Highway to Sturgeons Slough and on. It ties together the existing dykes and the TransCanada Trail; it links several parks and trails. The trails are a few meters wide made up of firm gravel: great for walking, (some parts are wheel chair accessable) biking and horseback riding. Great views of the Mountains, the river(s), and working farms. Wild life is around from birds, to seals, and the occasional beaver to name a few. There are washrooms near the Harris Road point with some benches and doggie bags are provided. One can walk a small section or try the whole trail. We were here for the Cystic Fibrosis walk on the weekend. A great, unspoiled green space to enjoy!

We have spent many days over the years at Widgeon Slough across the Pitt River from the Pitt Ecological Preserve, with the most recent being end of September.
Parking is available at the huge, free parking lot at the end of Rannie Road and we launched the canoe from the adjacent marina. It is a short paddle across the river at the entrance to the lake, with Widgeon Slough entered at the north end of Siwash Island. While the river can be a tad choppy, at times and have a good current running, once you enter the slough, it is normally flat calm.
On entering the slough it becomes fairly shallow so you can either paddle or wade through the myriad of channels. There are a number of landing spots to beach the canoe and enjoy a picnic.
At the end of the channel you can also gain access to the trails and hike up to the Falls, a trip we haven't completed.
Plan to spend a full day and bring a picnic and lots of water.

Came to jungle jacs to let my kids blow off some steam! They had a ball! Friendly staff, clean and welcoming environment! The kids loved the trampolines! Awesome value - can't go wrong for $5!
