The medieval Kuusisto bishop's castle (Kuusiston piispanlinna) is a fairly large ruin and an important part of Finnish history. It is situated on a beautiful spot by the sea. In the summer season there is a small cafe, from where you can also request small tours and further information. You can also bring a packed lunch and things to barbeque over open fire; there's a place for that by the water. Close to the castle ruin is also the Kuusisto manor, similarly historically important. In the summer season you can also visit the manor; there is a small cafe and a pretty good art exhibition there, too. You can also walk the short nature trails by the castle, manor and the surrounding forrests. PRO TIP: take a bike trip here! A charming winding road.
