Row River Trail

Reviewed By rvbikelady

I rode this on a Friday afternoon in July. The path is well marked, and paved well. It is about 16 miles long from the Trailhead Park in Cottage Grove. Simply outstanding. There are some bumps in the trail where tree roots have pushed the asphalt up, but they are all marked very well so that you know they are coming up! Wow! There are other parks along the way, and bathrooms if you need them. I'll be riding it again tomorrow! Thanks to the cities/counties who maintain this trail. A true gem.

Cottage Grove Covered Bridge Tour Route

Reviewed By Kathryn S - Rockville MD

I began my tour by going to the visitor center in Cottage Grove, a small town in West Central Oregon just south of Eugene. The people in the visitor center were lovely, friendly, and very helpful. While there I picked up a tour brochure of their local covered bridges. There are six within a 10 mile radius of Cottage Grove, and I visited all of those plus a seventh that was just a little further out, on the opposite side of Dorena Lake. The bridges are all in good shape, and while some you could drive over, all you could walk over, and it made a very nice relaxing day to be outdoors. If you like covered bridges, and history, I highly recommend doing this. The brochure to guide you to the various Bridges is very well done, and easy to follow.

Saginaw Vineyard

I became a wine-club member in 2012. Scott and Cheryl are making terrific wines for the price. Very appropriately priced. Karen usually is "on" at the tasting bar in the RED BARN. Free tastings always lead me to buy a few more bottles. Their PINOT NOIR is about the best value in Oregon. Give a bottle to a wine snob and you'll be surprised at the results.

The place is really fun on Friday Night. In the BARN during rainy times and outside in sunny times, the place rocks with free live music and great food. Club members get 30% off ONLY at these events. Just another reason to go!

HAVE FUN AT SAGINAW VINEYARD!

Cottage Theatre

Cottage Theatre delights audiences with its year-round season of plays and musicals. The theatre presents six to eight productions annually, each of which runs for 3 or 4 weeks. The theatre also offers summer theatre camps for children. From humble beginnings under a parachute in 1982, Cottage Theatre now boasts a state-of-the-art facility that was built in 1998 and expanded in 2006.

We have had season tickets to the Cottage Theater for many years. They consistently do a great job, especially with musicals. Recently they put on Les Miserables which is incredibly daunting for a small theater. The reviews were terrific and we thoroughly enjoyed the show. However, we have never had a bad experience and are continually amazed at the level of talent available in both Cottage Grove and Eugene. I know many who travel from Eugene for each performance as Cottage Theater rivals any larger venue. We never miss a show, and the service is great if you need advice on seats or to change your date (for season tickets)>

Spirit Falls

Reviewed By angelw419 - Seattle, Washington

We hiked with our three small children down to the falls after a pretty sketchy drive out there. When we arrived we were the only ones there! We had the falls to ourselves for about 30 minutes. The falls drop down into a relatively shallow pool of water that then gently cascades into smaller little pools. Rocks are slippery, but we just went in wearing shoes because why not? My two older children, 8 and 5 years, were amazed and had "the best day of their lives" I was just overjoyed to experience these falls with my littles and have them appreciate God's Playground as well. We stayed for about an hour and when we left there were about 20 people there of all ages. No cell phone service at all and the road out gets a little sketch at times, gravel, dips, and narrow. The hike itself is short (less than half mile), but there are some steep parts so if you have knee problems then this might not be for you. Easy enough for my 8 and 5 year to hike and we carried our 1 year old on our back. There are lots of mosquitos so wear bug spray or whatever. Very shady. Water is not that cold!
