We were in Dallas looking for Saturday entertainment, luckily we found Plaza Theatre in Cleburne. It was an hour drive but the production was more than we anticipated. A new theatre in the round provides excellent seating no matter where you sit. Being an avid theatre attendee, and having worked in the theatre business for years, I was beyond pleased with the quality of production, the entire package - talent, lighting, costumes, staging... it really was top-notch. I highly recommend this theatre, even if you have to drive a lengthy distance. You will not be disappointed.

We are about 37 miles outside cleburne. It wasnt a long drive. It is 5$ per adult in a car! I'm 4 months pregnant and in decent shape. We hiked/walked up the trail to the spill way. My 7 year old son had no problem with this hike. (about .10 of a mile) neither did my husband with 2 dogs on leashes. We explored all around there with relative easy. The views are beautiful!! There are aome fossils of shells in the rocks if look close enough. We noticed a lot of milk weed around the trial. I didnt see any poisonous plants. There is a alot of pinic areas for you to stop and eat lunch or snack. Be sure to read the rules on the map when we enter!! There is a playground by the dining hall, however its in full sun and i felt it would probaby burn my son's skin if he played on it. Alot of people were swimming in ponds and lakes. We usually don't swim in lake water and didn't this trip. There are signs up that state swim at your own risk. We felt it was over all worth thr day trip out!

We stopped here in April with our car club. They are closed on Wednesdays but opened up for us. Ginger has collected GWTW items for 35 years. She has a lot of the original items that were used in the movie such as clothing. If you travel thru Cleburne this Museum is a "must see."

Housed in Cleburne's 1905 Carnegie Library, the Layland Museum presents exhibits and educational programs relating to local history and home life.

Free, donations accepted. Housed in a beautiful old Carnegie Library, this was a very interesting and unexpected find. History starts with pre history and Laylend's involvement and moves nicely through town history. Households, tools, firearms and local individual stories. Could do better explaining railroad history...MoreThank you so much for visiting the museum. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your time here.

Quality live music in a friendly, downtown Cleburne venue. With a variety of musical entertainment, usually on a Saturday night, there's is no better place to go without driving to Dallas or Ft. Worth. No frills--straight-back chairs in rows that face a small stage and popcorn, snacks, and soft drinks are offered for sale. But...the music is what it is all about and you can BYOB. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.

If you're looking for the PERFECT venue location to have a child's birthday party ~ I highly suggest having it at Imagination Station in Cleburne.
There are different themes to choose from. The event planners and employees work very hard to accommodate your every request.
There are several rooms within the station which include a party room, sand room with toys and sand slides,a Lego room, and other miscellaneous activities for children.
I love to hear this sound of children laughing because it warms my soul ❤️.
We absolutely LOVED our experience and I HIGHLY recommend that you consider having a child's birthday party or other venue at Imagination Station.

Enjoy!

Mainstay Farm

Once a historic dairy farm, Mainstay Farm located in Cleburne, Texas (just a 25-minute drive south of Dallas/Fort Worth) has been transformed into 70 adventuresome acres of fun for the whole family! Widely known as the “Biggest Backyard in Texas”, this unique English-inspired Farm Park offers over 30 unique attractions, many of which are found nowhere else in the Country. Guests may choose to attend during one of three special seasons. “Pumpkin Days” kicks off each Fall with a giant pumpkin patch, plus Fall farm festivities. Winter ushers in “Christmas Farm Adventure” with a working Christmas Tree Farm, Hayrides, Santa and more! The Farm also hosts thousands of school field trips throughout the year. During Fall, children tour and learn about how pumpkins are grown in Texas, and in the Spring we teach them how fruits & vegetables help to strengthen our bodies, and about the bees that help our fruits and veggies grow! We also rent our farm for corporate business and birthday parties!
