Miner's Cabin Trail

Reviewed By Cshastry2 - Bengaluru, India

We need to trek about a mile - one way. The path has ranches & snow covered areas. And small rivulets too... The Miners Cabin Trail head provides access to the Miners Cabin Trail on the Snowy Range Scenic Byway. The short loop trail has interpretive information and passes historical mining ruins. The trail also offers excellent views of Medicine Bow Peak. This is an excellent way to explore the scenic beauty and history of the Snowy Range. It is managed by the Laramie Ranger District. We were lucky to be in this serene place... #Its about 10 thousand feet above sea level#

Libby Flats Observation Site

This is an excellent spot to stop. Once you climb the stone viewing platform, you can view the Libby Flats and on a clear day you can see south to the the Colorado Rockies, west to Montana and Sugar Peak. If you step up on the center, the top tells you what you can see in each direction. A must do when driving along the Snowy Byway. Bathrooms available at this stop too.

Great family ski resort. The lessons our kids got were fantastic. They learned way more here than at a large CO place. They both can ski now! Yes smaller but that was an advantage for us. Easy to get in and get going on a run. Short lines and rentals right there.

Nici Self Historical Museum

The Nici Self Historical Museum celebrates the history of the Centennial Valley, from ranching and mining, to timber and recreation. Our buildings include a 1907 railroad depot, a Union Pacific caboose, a beehive burner from a local lumber mill, a one room schoolhouse, a log barn, a blacksmith shop in the former fire station, a skid shack, and a small cabin from the University of Wyoming's former Rec Camp.

Country Junction

This is a gift shop that sells very delicious ice cream as well and we have visited both trips to and from the Wyoming Snowy Range. The gifts are nice and there are blocks all over the place with hilarious sayings and mottos on them. The real treat, however is the ice cream.
