Arnside Knott

We have only just discovered the lovely town of Arnside. It is in such a beautiful setting. We did the walk up to The Knott and over the top to Far Arnside, returning through the woods. It was about 5 miles. The view from top which can be reached in about half an hour is stunning.

Arnside Tower

Reviewed By Stephen51 - Lytham St Anne's, United Kingdom

We were walking from Silverdale to Arnside and, as Tower Teas is a great place to stop, we thought we would walk through the farm grounds. The ruins of the tower are very impressive but, as they are partially collapsed, it is not possible to go inside. As one of the many Pele Towers located in the area it is well worth stopping to take a look as it is very atmospheric and a landmark in the area. It is also a great place to stop and have tea and cakes as Tower Teas is situated right by. For the children there are sheep, lambs, chickens and pigs wandering around and good outdoor seating and highchairs. A great place to stop if you are walking the area.

Really enjoyed our visit to this out of the way little gem - if you're interested in characterful, intersting and unique art, find it an enjoy it. The style and occasional quirkiness of works suits me - I love the almost monochrone work of seabrids over the estuary by Heather, printed onto metal/aluminium alloy plates. Whistful and magical and austere all at the same time.
