Magnificent vistas from high up on the bluff overlooking the coastline and way out into Lake Michigan. It`s a great place to observe lake going vessels, hear the sound of the surf and especially to catch a stellar sunset.
It`s an easy and safe pull over off the highway.

Great food with a view. Cannot imagine golfing this course looks very difficult. Rolling hills. Have gone for lunch the last two weekends. Beautiful view of course and Lake Michigan from outdoor dining porch. Lunch for 2 approx $41. Not cheap but fantastic food. Price does not include alcoholic beverages. Resort attire as expensive golf course. Approx 30 minutes south of Frankfort choice of either walking up hill to facility from parking or golf cart shuttle

This walk out into the lake is pleasant. Our grandkids jumped in at a point where a ladder allowed them to climb out. The lighthouse has seen better days - lots of graffiti but arriving there does give a lovely view back to the shore. Don't go out there if the waves are crashing over it. A local 15 year old boy was swept away and drowned. But it's a good activity in a calm day!

Pack a bottle of water and head out to the little known dunes south of Sleeping Bear...what a great hike! It is not difficult, but you will get a workout and see Lake Michigan and the dunes from a whole new perspective. Easy access and well marked trails from the trail heads.

Visiting in mid-January, the beautiful Lake Michigan beach in Frankfort is a different king of beauty. With strong westerly winds, the huge waves were breaking along the shore resulting in ever-growing masses of ice in the sub-freezing temps. Really a magical sight...to enjoy from inside a warm car!

We'd read that there was a loop hike out overlooking Lake Michigan, with access to the beach, and decided to give it a go. It's between Arcadia and Frankfort, look out for a small green sign.
We parked at the trailhead and were the only people there. You can do it as a there and back that is slightly less steep, or a loop with a bit of steep grade. We did the loop, which climbs to begin with, through a gorgeous forest (bring bug spray, though!), to a stunning overlook. Wow, worth a bit of a climb.
From there it's a short walk to the bridge, via a boardwalk staircase. Steep, but cool to have a bit of Lake Michigan beach to ourselves. Then get the stairs back to the trail, continuing the loop back to the parking lot.
The whole thing is 1.5-2 miles, and took us under an hour in extreme heat and with frequent photo breaks. I'd definitely recommend this short but moderate hike!

I really liked this course, very low key, but some really great golf holes. I've player there several times and it has not been really busy--kind of nice for my abilities. I would recommend it to any golfer, even good golfers will find this course fun, and the prices are very reasonable. It has beer and wine available and burgers and dogs on the grill. Nice large deck to relax and drink or eat.
