Sugarcreek is a village in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, United States. It includes the community formerly known as Shanesville. The population was 2,220 at the 2010 census. It is known as "The Little Switzerland of Ohio." In the center of town stands one of the world's largest cuckoo clocks, which was previously featured on the cover of the Guinness Book of World Records in 1977.

Stopped by here on our way back to where we were staying. Was not expecting much when we went in. David Wurther carves historical sailing ships out of ivory. He comes from an amazing carving family, as his grandfather has a great collection of carved trains in a museum not far away. David does an outstanding job of researching, planning, and carving each ship exactly to scale. The tour guide we had was extremely knowledgeable about all of the 91 ships on display, including the first one he carved in high school. When she left for lunch, David came out and continued the tour with us himself. At the end, he showed us how he makes the riggings for each of the ships using a tool that was handed down to him. It was amazing to see the detail in each of his creations and the effort to recreate each vessel.

Established in 1976 it will be an experience you won't soon forget filled with history tidbits and up close and personal experiences not seen anywhere else. Admission for all ages is always FREE but donations are greatly appreciated. It is also important to keep in mind that our beautiful museum is supported by donations and all of our staff are volunteers. The Sugarcreek Information Center is located in the lobby of the Museum. For events, directions, attractions, and any other questions be sure to stop at the Information Center. From the reservations to the dinner to the show everything was quality. If you do the dinner prior to the show you have 3 locations you can pick from. Seating started at 6:30 and show at 7:00. Sound system is excellent and seating very comfortable. The show was fantastic. Will be returning for future shows!

When it comes to apple-eating in Holmes County, you can’t get any fresher than straight from the local orchard. Family-owned Hillcrest Orchard of Walnut Creek, which is family-owned and operated by the Merle Hershberger family, has 75 acres of orchard on which 22 varieties of apples and 12 varieties of peach are grown. We care for the trees, pick the fruit and prepare it for re-sale in our beautiful store, open seasonally from August through March. The store not only has apples, but is packed with quality goodness in local meats and cheeses, a full line of fresh produce as well as nuts, candies and snacks. Freshly-pressed cider During the fall months, you’ll find large displays of fall decorations, free samples of our signature fresh, sweet apple cider and a look-out deck from which you can experience a million-dollar view of the gorgeous Mud Valley. Motorcoach groups are welcome. Hours: Open August through March, Monday to Saturday, 8am to 5pm. Closed Sunday.

I loved this orchard!! I love how I could try an apple and some apple cider before I bought it. I’m so glad I got to try an Evercrisp apple. It was delicious! The prices were good too. I wish I lived closer so I could buy my apples here every week. I loved it!
