Oistins (Pronounced /'ȯis-tins/ -- UN/LOCODE: BB OST), is a coastal area located in the country of Barbados. In our opinion the best beach on the island, one that gives you options???? The calm side is great for a long warm bath where you can relax, swim and even talk with other bathers, many returnees amidst the throng of locals. We usually did it in 2-hours stints before towelling down- my partner has rheumatoid arthritis so this is also therapy time for her having been assisted in, as well as, out of the water. After the water it is time to chill on a chair or bench, soaking in the rays and reading a book. Hunger and thirst are sated via a walk into Oistins for a roti from Chefette, KFC, food from a street van or one of the Oistins cafes. Make the effort and take the plunge.
