Ecotour Barahona

Ecotour Barahona is more than a simple tour operator. It is a way of experiencing tourism in an ecological way. Discover with us a new face of the Dominican Republic. A more human, a more authentic face. The goals of our tours are: Sharing with the Dominican culture. Our guides are born in our region and the meals served are typical dishes from the Caribbean. In each town, you will have the opportunity to share some moments of the Dominican life. The respect for the nature. Our tours will allow you to travel around the four National Parks of the region, each of them protected by the Dominican government. All the sites we propose to visit are mostly uninhabited, far away from civilization and thus… truly authentics.

Playa De Los Patos

Reviewed By njpmln - Lebanon, United States

This is a unique ecosystem where a fresh water river pours from the mountains only a few hundred yards from the beach. Many places to eat and drink. Be careful of the sea which can be rough, yet beautiful. Most people stick to the river which has calm and relaxing pools as it pours into the sea.

Playa San Rafael

This is a fabulous spot to surf and have a delightful and incredibly delicious meal on the beach- grilled fish to order with beans and rice, plantains....wash it down with a Presidente. Swimming isn’t recommended because of rip tides but go up by the river to swim in clean and clear pools. You may meet some Peace Corp volunteers taking a well-deserved break and learn about some communities off the beaten track.
