People's Light, a professional, not-for-profit theatre in Chester County, makes plays drawn from many sources to entertain, inspire, and engage our community. We extend our mission of making and experiencing theatre through arts education programs that excite curiosity about, and deepen understanding of, the world around us. These plays and programs bring people together and provide opportunities for reflection, discovery, and celebration. Founded in 1974, we produce eight to nine plays each season, in two black box theatres with 340 and 160 seats respectively, mixing world premieres, contemporary plays, and fresh approaches to classic texts for our 7-Play, Discovery, and Teen Series.

Recently saw "sweat" great show and great performance!! Small local theater. Small stage with seating. Easy viewing. Seats somewhat uncomfortable yet ok. Restrooms clean and plenty. Small snack bar with alcoholic and nonalcoholic options. Easy and ample parking. Nice to have a local theater in the area.

Couples night out to see A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. I never heard of it but it was wonderful. Outstanding cast, one of the actors portrays 7 different roles. Forge Theatre competes well with all the local entertainment, and at that price you can afford dinner beforehand. Park at the nearby church and enjoy the short walk.

I have been to several performances of the Resident Theater Company(RTC) at this theater and they have all been marvelous. The most recent one “Lend Me a Tenor” was truly hilarious and superior to the performance of this comedy at another theater. The prices are very reasonable and the theater is comfortable, easy to find with good acoustics.No need to go far to see first rate live entertainment.
