Went with my 16 year old daughter, first time for either of us at improv...so went with no expectations but so glad we went. Both of us enjoyed it, the service and cozy atmosphere was excellent and the performers hilarious! Great job!

Went to see a Celtic trio recently, and the historic venue was quaint and comfortable. They even offered fresh bake cakes and pies prior to the show. This is a must for a Friday evening if you are in the area. I will make this a regular spot for me in the future. Look for schedule of events on their website.

Historic venue with live music, dance, comedy, theatre, movies and other events. Also, we used to have a speakeasy in our basement!
Visiting this theatre is like walking into a time machine of a past era. The art deco alone is worth the price of admission. Be sure to sit on the side aisle seats for the best unobstructed view. I thoroughly enjoyed the live performance by the Robinson Ballet. I like that the theatre is used for a mix of visual and musical arts: bands, movies, ballet, theater. The Theatre is a valuable asset to a small town.

Cheer on your team as they compete in the'Olympics of the Forest' Fun and affordable for the whole family. Shows are nightly at 7:00 PM - Rain or shine 2016 Season - June 18 - August 28
This family friendly show entertained all 10 of us who ranged in age from 65 to 6. Even the teens thought it was a cool way to spend an evening in Maine and the younger ones were enthralled with the ax throwing, log rolling and sawing competitions. Yes, the jokes were a little corny, but actually the show provides some information about lumberjack skills from the past and those skills done in competitions today. The show was just a little over an hour. We felt it was worth the money.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this theater’s lighthearted, funny and original Sherlock Holmes performance. Highly recommended and special kudos to the young actors who displayed versatile talent playing a multitude of smaller and humorous parts.

The Grand offers outstanding entertainment from around the world in an historic Art Deco theater on Main Street in Ellsworth, Maine. Since 1938, The Grand has served as the performing arts center for the region. Join us to watch a new or classic film, see the spectacle of the Met opera on screen, revel in the fun of live theater, or learn something unexpected.
I wish my town had a theater like this. I understand that in this day and age that it is more cost efficient to have multiplexes with many small dinky theaters inside of them. What a pleasant surprise to find a theater like the Grand still exists. I went to see the movie The Greatest Show. The manager came out before the movie and introduced what we were going to see. The movie was captioned with the lyrics to the songs so the audience could sing along (which we did). I had a great time. The theater is beautiful, done in the art deco style and is well maintained. The people of Ellsworth should be proud to support such a grand place as this.
