Venture outside the Capital Lome on a full day guided driving, walking and sailing tour. This tour will give you a good sense of Togolese rural life and introduce you to the mysterious workings of the ancient African Voodoo. Your tour starts with a drive to Akodessewa Fetish Market, the largest fetish market in West Africa, to learn about the ancient Voodoo religion and its rituals. Then you'll continue your drive to Lake Togo along the coastal road. You will sail across the lake on a pirogue (traditional dugout canoe) to Togoville, the center for Voodoo practice in Togo and set out on a guided tour by a resident guide. Slave traders also once used Togoville as their point of departure for the Americas. After Togoville, you will visit the village of Agbodrafo on the shores of the Atlantic Coast (formerly called the Slave Coast) where an illegal slave trade once operated from the Wood Home or the La Maison des Esclaves.

We went to visit Mont Agou and Kpalime (Chateau Vial and one waterfall). I really enjoyed the trip which was very well organized. The guide was very optimistic and keen on explaining us cultural and historical things. The meal was just awesome. Everything was beyond expectations and I will definitely book another trip with Mowoki Tours next time I'll visit Togo.

Back in September me and my wife had the opportunity of doing two amazing tours with this company. Communication before the tours was excellent and the tour guide, Isaac, was simply the best private guide I’ve had in many years of travel. His knowledge of the country, friendliness and service was top notch. I only wish we could’ve taken him with us on the rest of our trip through West Africa. We did the Voodoo Tour and also Kpalime with Mt Kloto… both were incredible experiences, but the highlight for sure was the nature walk in Mt Kloto. You can easily book their tours online through their website and find their prices (something I struggle with a lot when booking tours in Africa). I feel that their prices are very reasonable, especially when you take into account that they run social programs and a lot of their profit goes back to the local community. If you want to travel safely around the country, have top notch guides without a hefty price tag and give back to the community, book with them. We also booked a transfer to Benin with them. Thank you Riza & Isaac!

With three extra days in Namibia, I decided to include a quick trip to Etosha. I struggled to find a company that was still operational, and met my needs. Then I chatted with Megan, representative with Across Africa. I quickly knew she was actually interested in helping. Her sincerity, honesty, humanity and dedication were recognized immediately, and I knew that I didn’t need to search further. She set up my trip with no hidden BS, made an effort to meet all my needs, and did all of it promptly, professionally, and graciously. My trip turned out perfectly down to the last detail. I credit Megan and my guide Steve for making my quick visit to Etosha unforgettable. Because of them I will use Across Africa in the future and suggest to others that they do the same!
