Horrible service experience from the hotel
Reviewed By SavvyTraveler1828The attitude from the hotel owner and his staff is that the guests must be grateful to be staying as his establishment. I have never experience such poor customer service experience in my life. too bad because the hotel is conveniently located.

Reviewed By NdavheThe lush landscape of the mountain range and the Luvuvhu River a few metres away are what makes this place tolerable to stay in. It is basic, locals define it as luxury. To enjoy this place one has to give up the idea of a city or dorpie mentality. It would not work here. Still good for overnight when one is visiting these areas.

La Mammie, a hidden gem with potential, only if it can be professionalised
Reviewed By ThivhilaelimK212 - 15 May 2022: La Mammie is a hidden gem in Tshisahulu, a short distance out of Thohoyandou. The room we got was a thatch setting, w/ a walled open-air shower, bath and toilet. It has character and lovely. Thatch drops dust and reptile faeces, and the staff seem not bothered to clean even after we requested that they do. The plants in the novel outdoor ablutions are covered by dust and still the cleaning staff do not simply use water to remove the dust. The noise from a nearby Vhulelu Bar Lounge is deafening. Some noise barriers towards the road might help. On our arrival, there was a rowdy party blaring throughout the lodge and some from guest rooms, disturbing the little peace that was left. The receptionist is a friendly gentleman who doubles up as a security guard at night, untrained in my book. The pricing seem dodgy and we had to insist on our online booking. Overall, a lodge with potential. Will I return? Maybe.

Reviewed By lshanduBesides the fact that I had to ask for the adapter for charging as it was not in the room, everything was great. I had a problem with the shower. The geyser was not working on my first day at the hotel, but I was informed of the issue prior to me discovering it my self and I was compensated with R150 for the inconvenience, which is good, even though I had to shower with cold water the next morning, but the issue was fixed the during the day (my second day at the hotel). Overall, the service was quite nice.
