Reviewed By Adrián GThe principal property of this hotel is a comfortable, calm down, I recomended to visit with your family. There are a pool in the garden near the rooms. There are a buffet in the restaurant in the breakfast and dinner.

Basic, at a Peruvian's level of expectation
Reviewed By FotoGrafik AI'm American, married to a Peruvian. I travel to Peru a couple times each year, probably spending a month or more there. I've been doing this for 10 years, so I've got a pretty good idea about doing comparisons and levels of expectations for a native and a foreigner. We traveled from Arequipa as a family of 5, in a private car which I drove. El Hostalito is certainly aimed at the very local Peruvian population, with very low expectations. Any American or European will have to "adjust" expectations while in Peru anyway, and this place fits that description. Actually, you probably won't see many foreigners in Mollendo, so it makes sense that they don't cater to that level of service. They messed up our reservation and didn't have our rooms correctly reserved. then wanted to charge more to make it right. The parking is at least a block away. The rooms are functional, and nothing more. They have a bed, toilet and a shower. Our light didn't work. On top of that, they had some weird request about no towels on the floor, hehe. The breakfast was terrible for two reasons: 1. Just bread, and bad coffee. 2. Although there were only 3 tables occupied, it took more than 30 minutes for us to get our 'breakfast'. They need some training in customer service. The good: - It's withing walking distance of the beach. - They do take reservations. - Comfortable furniture in the hallways if you have to wait for anything. This place inspired me to think about the opportunities in Peru for a hotel operated on the principles of modern customer service and hospitality in North America and Europe.

Very basic
Reviewed By gemidoI stayed one night. On the plus side good secure parking and it’s cheap and clean. Bed was comfortable and I got a good sleep. The hosts are very friendly. The room had only one electrical outlet high in the wall by the TV. The window would not shut properly so drafty and lots of street noise. No hot water in the shower. No breakfast.

Just Dreadful
Reviewed By Isabel FI have never given a really bad review to any hotel or restaurant but this one deserves it. First of all it's not a hotel it's a hostel. It is filthy the lobby the hallways the rooms the bathrooms even the managers themselves can't even bother to dress and clean clothes. We only had to spend one night and we couldn't find any other place that looked any better from the outside so we stayed. I slept in my clothes we could not take showers because the water did not even turn on but I would not have gotten in in any case. There was only cold water in the sink but I didn't use that either I used bottled water to brush my teeth and wash my face. On top of the filth it really smelled bad I'd rather sleep in my car the next time. Be cautious even my own pictures make it look nice but it is not.
