Six of our family stayed here. Great time! Much to choose from. Very relaxing and friendly staff. It was so hot but we still had a great time. The horseshoes, ping pong, pool, putt putt, camp fire with s’mores. Just wonderful and will definitely go again.

Pony Rides with Miss Shirley were amazing!

Reviewed By 316martie

We took our 5 & 3 year old grandchildren to The Twin Elm for Pony rides. We did not expect such a professional introduction to horse-riding for these little ones. Miss Shirley went to great lengths to make sure the children, the parents and grandparents were all involved, learned something and had a wonderful and memorable experience! And we loved your stories of raising your children on the pro rodeo circuit as a barrel racer! Thank You, Miss Shirley!

Quiet, lovely room just outside of Bandera

Reviewed By 201robinl

A really nice stay. Thoughtfully appointed, in a rustic cabin style. The beds were comfortable and the linens were fresh and clean. The entire room including the bath were VERY clean and everything worked. No television (a plus!) and a nice patio area with hanging plants and a picnic table where we played some board games and just relaxed. Super quiet. If you are looking for a simple, rustic, but clean and comfortable, this is your place. Why only 4 stars? It's in a residential area (where folks have large, country lots) and there is no sign. When we arrived, we were uncomfortable because we weren't sure we were in the right place. A hand-painted address let us know we were, but the gravel entry which takes you to the folks' house and THEN around to the cabins gave us the vibe that we weren't in the right place. My friend wasn't comfortable in this setting but once I realize we WERE in the right location, I found it to be lovely. Don't take a friend who has 'upscale' tastes -- but this is just right (in my view) for Bandera Texas. It's rustic but that's the vibe I was looking for. I think a little signage, even if "Welcome to the Bandera Tin Star" ... would make folks feel they were indeed at the right place and make them feel welcome. Disclosure: I'm a professional signage person so I'm likely biased toward better signage ... This place is lovely though, and I'd absolutely stay again (with my husband next time, lol). :)

She was extremely rude. Room was nothing like described by booking agent. No toilet or shower in rooms. We paid for 7 nights and only stayed 1. She stole $500 from me. Won't respond to my emails. This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. Please do not stay there.

First room they gave us: I inspect beds to make sure sheets are clean.....NOPE! Hair from previous use, ya just gotta make sure the creases are fresh! We asked for a different room, the manager did apologize and expressed great embarrassment. Once we were in room number 2 husband went to shower and the water came out yellow, a filled plastic cup looked like beer! We just had to see if we could get a refund and the mgr blamed the city water! We had to leave anyway, losing the 127.00 we paid! NEVER AGAIN!
