Cabanas del Rio is a brand new option for lodging in La Fortuna de San Carlos, Arenal, Costa Rica. Nestled in the middle of the Costa Rica's Rainforest, our place is located at only 5 minutes from downtown La Fortuna, and near Hot Springs, jungles, rivers, and waterfalls, and some 2 1/2 hours from Juan Santamaria International Airport, San Jose, and 3 hours from Daniel Oduber Airport in Liberia. Each of our 10 units is completely furnished and fully eqquiped to host as many as 6 people, but couples and smaller groups are highly welcome too. Cabanas del Rio is known for it's excellent costumer service, as well as it's love for nature. Therefore, we have recreated a natural habitat for birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects and plants, and, once in a while, we are also visited by mammals like monkeys, sloths, coaties, and more. Besides, we have a naturalist on site, who will be more than happy to give you a free tour through our biolgical garden.

Reviewed By Émilie GAmazing place!!! We had such a great time. Spacious and super clean. Well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Service is fabulous and staff are super helpful for everything you need. The garden and river at the back are breathtaking. Birds watching in the morning and frogs by night were the highlights of our stay.

Reviewed By radar60We picked this hotel because of it’s high ratings and supposedly close proximity to San Jose airport. Bought a CR SIM card but because of a lot of construction we still got hopelessly lost . Once we found it the parking inside the gate is a challenge , not for the faint of heart getting in or out of your spot. The rooms and amenities in this hotel are ok but what stood out for me was the exceptional service level. Vicky was a wonderful host and very helpful. Because of the challenges with our GPS we asked for help getting out of Dodge and Vicky’s husband actually guided us out of the city in his own car. Wow, did not know this level of service still existed. Awesome !!

Reviewed By villamangoTraveled with 17 family members and rented three units. Welcome from hosts was fantastic, condos are cleaned every day with change of towels, kitchen is well appointed and practical. Outdoor area was great for children and adults alike with pool table, table tennis, hammock and a soccer goal… all used frequently! Even had a baby crib for the youngest! Location is excellent at two blocks from the main street. Even had the chance to see the volcano completely cleared of cloud right from our front door. Highly recommend for a family budget!

Excelente ubicación
Reviewed By crivasqExcelente ubicación, está en el centro de Bijagua cerca de restaurantes, supermercados, una farmacia, entre otros. La habitación muy cómoda para una estancia tranquila y perfecta para ir al Parque Nacional Volcán Tenorio para ver Río Celeste. Un detalle a mencionar, sería que la habitación con aire acondicionado está cerca de la carretera principal, por lo a algunos les podría molestar el ruido de los carros al pasar, aunque para nosotros no fue ningún inconveniente.

Dissatisfying
Reviewed By TLevinskiBland place - not at all reflecting the pictures. The pool is okay, yes, and the apartment is clean. But there aren’t even light switches for some of the lamps, one sits in the dark, the place smells of cheap soap and the noise from the fridge is so loud we switched it off over night. If you are looking for character-free, boring and weird: this is your place.
